You need not change anything if you replace your ZMA rear sprocket with the P200's 38T sproket. Just get the P200 set, pull out your ZMA rear sprocket, put in the 38T and then the O ring chain of the P200 will fit in WITHOUT any modification.

If you decide to use ONLY THE O ring chain, then you will need two extra links of the chain if i am right. You do not get extra links which would force you to buy two O ring chains and then cannibalize one.

Most probably the wearing out of bushes depends on how the suspension takes beating based on your riding conditions.

You can fit the battery with slight modification. I have the path to an album by Sankar which clearly shows how to do it, but seems he removed the link now.
Hi,Can you please send me the link of the above album, because am really struggling to fit a 9 amp amaron battery into my karizma R

                • Happy riding ZMA!

                  Hi Guys!

Last week I got my bike, yellow in colour.
It was a dream come true which lasted almost 7 years (since the launch).
Well, in first 5 days, followings are my observations & concerns.

                  Observations -
                  1. Idle rpm was set to 1500 by mechanic which went up to 2000 at times.
                  2. Gear shifting becomes hard when I have to change gears frequently. As soon as I touch highways or smooth roads, gear shift becomes smooth.
                  3. Bike was vibrating like hell sometime (probably because of rpm touching 2000)
                  4. Initially, I feel like pushing-pulling itself on its own (all call very little jerks) for fraction of seconds. This is very hard to notice though.
                  5. Ride becomes a little harsher at times, can not zero on preconditions.

                  Concerns -
                  1. What should be idle rpm to avoid engine stalling at signals after reaching neutral. Today, I have set it to 1200 on my own. I had ridden almost 5-6 KMs early in the morning since I started my bike.
                  2. During my second service can I rely upon engine oil which service center guys use? If not which one to go for?
                  3. I tend to change gears at 3500 rpm, is that fine in run in period, or I shall squeeze it till 4000?
                  4. Which petrol to be used? Thinking of putting any brand but unleaded only.
                  5. What is the tyre pressure I need to maintain for solo ride & with pillion ride.
                  6. If I have to lock handle, if I keep it at extreme right, it gets locked. But if I keep it at extreme left, it does not. However, if I don't move it completely to left & try, it gets locked.
                  7. Headlight is the major turn off for me. It ridicules me a lot. Lower beam hardly covers 10 feet distance whereas upper beam does lower beams job. Is there anyway I can get it adjusted?

                  Well,
At this moment, I have only these things in mind.
I will keep updating as and when I come across new ones (hope not to though).

                      Yes, it can be fitted.
Google "Karizma leg gaurd" and you will find your answer.

Well, somebody address my post please.
My engine is making some rattling noise, I believe.
Going to SVC to make sure if it's true or my hearing problem.

                          1. Remove the battery (if you dont know how to do it, take help from a mechanic). I guess the battery will discharge. In case of a new-bike the battery that comes from the factory is dry (with no water - as one dealer told me) the dealers put in the distilled water when we take delivery hence they start like that. In normal cases the battery will discharge. Keep the battery in a cool dry place and recharge the battery at a shop when you are ready to start again after coming back.

                          2. Drain all fuel from the tank/carb/engine, fuel tends to stiffen up if kept dormant and can cause issues later. For this you might need to remove the tank / or make sure all the stuff is drained (nothing should remain)

                          3. Pour oil in the fuel tank (castrol or other which you use for the bike) after you drain the fuel out so that tank rust issues will not happen when fuel is not present inside for 3-4 months.

                          4. Remove the mirrors and keep at a safe place.

                          5. Keep the bike on main stand.

                          6. Important thing is to cover the bike with bike cover as dust can be irritating to get out later.

Some more important points can be got by "googling". There is one post on T-BHP which explains in detail what a biker had done when his bike was to be kept 6 months idle. The link is here : http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/347217-post1.html.

Mods: I hope posting the link from another site is ok , if not please remove it.

Its currently 340kms done and have done oil change at 200kms and its running good except for the so called issues during run-in (not actually issues).Still own a Pulsar 150 which was my first bike.

Waiting to get my owners service manual and some stuff from the dealer as he said it still isn't come. Looking forward to a long term relation with this steed and would post as and when warranted . This thread holds a lot of information which is good for any ZMA owner.
The ZMA went in for 1st service on Sunday and came back yesterday. Found that the vibes which were there are gone. The bike has become more smooth and the gear shifts are smoother. Its at 800kms now. I intend to run-in at 60-65kmph upto 1k kms and then slowly increase the speeds.

One minor niggle is that the RPM is set at 1k or less so when I idle the bike shuts off sometimes. Irritant when stopped at signals and the bike shuts off. Apart from that no specific issues.

One thing I noticed in HH dealership is that they are absolutely careless about you bike so I thoroughly checked the bike before taking delivery of it as they tend to screw up the bike.

Will keep posting from time to time as updates warrant.
