AFAIK and from my own experience, the pulsar's rear brakes are really bad dude. I own the ZMa and I would happily say that the brakes on the ZMa are very very good and progressive.Originally posted by SandycoreBiker View PostGuys I am planning to change from P200 to ZMA. I know it might sound funny but only reason I was considering ZMR over ZMA is the rear disc. I am not interested in FI, fairing etc. So I wanted feedback on rear braking capabilities of ZMA. Riding will be 90% city riding.
I am asking this bcoz after using P200 i have lost trust in drum brake. They tend to loose the bite after few months.
I felt the brakes were so good.. I took it for service and he said the shoes are worn out. I laughed at him and said, compared to the Pee's brakes, never even noticed that these brake shoes have gone kaput.Never Argue with an Idiot !!!

Guys..
I finally serviced my bike. Changed the engine oil to Petronas Sprinta. I would just say NOT BAD. Well I feel my engine is smoother. but my issue of overheating still exists. After like 30km of riding I bent down to smell the hot engine and I could almost smell something burning.
The fully synthetic oil is not helping the engine run cooler. I forgot to mention,
my bike is a 2005 model. done 29000km on the ODO
I am not sure what the mechanic did. But this is what I have observed after service
1. Engine is making a more Gruff noise.
2. Exhaust vibes still exist. They're becoming worser day by day
3. Low end torque is completely lost. It used to accelerate like mad, but now the initial JUMP is not there. Only towards mid-range I can feel the power.
4. Carb could not be tuned because the AF screw in my Carb was jammed/stuck/whateva.
5. Mileage has dropped to around 33 from a constant 40kmpl. (have checked it twice)
6. One silly question. I had already mentioned that my tank is heating. Are there any chances that the petrol could be evaporating because of the heat???
can anyone gimme some Gyaan on what could be really wrong.Never Argue with an Idiot !!!
He will bring you down to his level and beat you with his experience.

So now i am can ride on highways without any tension of getting puncture and loosing control .
i never think this way before but after seeing those punctures on my tube this thought struck my mind .. Now i am relieved

hi am Derin
since am a new member 2 xbhp ..wish 2 say evry1 a big hiiiiii....
i joined this forum and learned a lot about bikes...i had a pulsar 180 ug3.i sold it a month and am looking forward to take an another bike..
i came up wid a decision of buying a new karizma R ..i too considered other bikes like the pulsar 220 and the new zmr but cant afford that much...
my friends say ma decision was stupid enough beacause dey think new bikes in town is sumthing cool rather than the bike being cool..
i liked karizma for the fact that its a smooth bike and even while doin a 100 Km/hr...i know 220 offers better perfomace,,,but i wanted sumthing that can be reliable since i owned a silver pulsar 180 UG3...
i hope karizma provides me comfort and enough perfomance 2 keep up with the other bikers...----Machines can be trusted more than galz...b'coz dey r made by man----

I just changed over to Motul 15w50 semi synth oil and must say, the bikes gone even smoother! And when perfectly warmed up, she flies like never before! damnnn smoooth
I would recommend this to every ZMA and prospective ZMR owners here. Drainage period is 2000 or 3000 kms i guess.
I got it for rs 350 a ltr.
PM me if you want any Motul product anytime. My friend here in Mumbai deals in all Motul products."Never recreate from your memory, always imagine new places"

Looks like your bikes tune is changed hence the initial pickup is reduced and mid range is up. HOriginally posted by Coplay@180 View PostGuys..

Hey you got it serviced from Gopi ? Tej had asked his no from me for you ?
If not bring it once to him. Will get all ur issues fixed not a big deal.
where u bought Petronas ?
Welcome ! u take 220 ,ZMA, R15, RTR - all these bikes is faster or slower to each other only by 1-2 secs. So dont worry much about perfomance, a lot depends on rider too. Which ever bike you buy u have some advantage or disadvantage over the other.Unfortunately we dont have a afordable bike which outperforms all these bikes in all department. Just buy one and maitain it well...Originally posted by derin6 View Posthi am Derin

You can check out Sniper Automotives - they will provide complete info on getting rear disk break for ZMAOriginally posted by SandycoreBiker View PostThanks guys for your advise.
@rockyy: Even i have same problem with my P200. Have changed almost everything on my rear drum but fu*#k it just doesn't work.
@dreamz_mak: That was a good suggestion. Could you throw little more light on the same. What is the cost involved, any mod required and is this standard of the shelf fitment.
I have seen their work and its pretty neat not sure about the cost part
You can send them an email [email protected] to get further details
I am happy with my drum rear break of my ZMA

Iam almost fixed with ma decision ..i like this bike very much....my only concern when i asked 4-5 of my friends who own karizma's said that the fibre breaks off easily ...especially the back part fibre along with one of the taillight bulb goin kaput...other than that evry1 said only +ves of this bike...but am wondering how come all frndz facing the same problem
Is there warranty for the fibre parts??
i hated bajaj because i owned a pulsar180 UG3..its my personal experience ...iam from kerala...can u guys believe i wanted a silver pulsar 180 and it took sum time from the dealer to get it delievered...since evry1 in kerala goes for black and red....and it took almost a year to find an another silver 180 to my eye...i cudn"t believe that they sold sold me a 150 silver color..not a 180 silver...den had to create a big scenario wid the dealer...anywayz its a long story......
i wanted to book a silver karizma ..since i feel like owning a different color than the rest eventhough its not ny fav color ...i again got astonished that they wont take the booking of geting me a silver color even if i was ready to wait for a month..i enquired with all the district showrooms in kerala.......i think theres sumtin wrong the state ...but sad that i wont be geting a silver
....so had to go for the black...anywayz its my favorite color...

Well thats a well known issue with ZMA. the fiber quality is really good but becuase of the deisgn flaw the joints breaks after 15k km (depends on in which condition u ride also). 2 Place are the 1) rear one where 2 peace joints this wont break actually, because it moves it wears and makes noise. But this can be fixed with some desi jugads. I still run it like that with no noise from rear. 2) seconds place is near the helmet lock.
You can live with these things unless u have falls
which will makes things worse. I havent changed anyhthing on my 3 year ZMA. But planning to do it now since my bike had 3 falls by now . After all buying a new dress for your bike once in 3 years is ok for me
better than a repaint job.
