I spoke with one of the car painters in my area and he advised that the scratch is a minor one and can be taken care off with some chemical that he has

he suggested me to do a transparent paint coat

he advsied Rs 800 for a complete coat its like doing a teflon coating i think

has anyone tried what the painter is suggesting

There is one prob with the my bike even the SVC guys said cant do anything.
I hear soem vibes from the Silencer. I am not sure what that is. They opened the silencer guard/cover and still could not figure out the sound. Has anyone faced this before?
      Heyy,
I have this issue of vibes from the silencer too... And that too major ones. It happens when i close throttle. My bike is a 2005 model though. But I have noticed a pattern. This happens only when the engine has run for a while. when it is hot. The SVC guys told me that they will have to open it up and then check to see what the problem could be. A new can costs 5450/- INR..

Another problem I have noticed on my bike.. THe engine is overheating. It almost boils after riding for some 30km. I dont ride above 70kmph nowadays. Bike Zone guy says timing tensioner might have gone.
Could anyone suggest me a probability for such overheating???
My whole tank gets hot. Even my thighs get warm

did you happen to change the engine oil lately as in you have put in some other engine oil from what is being recomended? i went for fully synthetic and I too feel the same thing but the engine doesnt get all that warm the tank surely does.see if it is because of the oil.

lol ya bro I have never faced this issue as long as I was using the HH oil prolly cause the oil I have put in is 10w40 while the new zmas are suppose to have 10w30.The tank gets heated up like its been kept under the sun for a while and the best part is it doesnt always happen.

How many KM's did your bike clock?

Timing chain issue would not heat up the engine. Also, when the engine heats up very much, the tank would absorb some heat.

I am not sure what the real problem here is but if the engine is heating up so much pls keep a check on the engine oil level and quality. At Rs 5450 I think he is quoting the price for bore kit and a few more things.

Well, I am not exactly sure how many k's my bike has clocked after the engine oil change. Thats because I bought the bike from a friend 2 weeks back and he serviced it a month back. According to my calculation, I think the bike has done some ~2k km. They have put Castrol Activ. I am considering buying the Petronas sprinta fully synth or HH Idemitsu oil this time. Any suggestions??

Well I asked in the HH SVC how much the exhaust costs, he said 5450/- I gave him a wicked grin. This Vibe issue on my exhaust is becoming unbearable now.

Well, this is my plan now. I feel this should reduce the heating up.
Change engine oil, check air filter, clean carb and tune it. I feel it might be running lean and hence the heating up.

                      • My bike is still under warranty. It's just been a month now. Should I go back to the HH showroom and ask them to check it. Coz SVC guys were helpless with the rattling sound from the silencer. This sound is only initially but once the its hot I dont hear that sound that much. Please Suggest Guys

                        • @Swaroop and coplay: I too have the rattling noise in my ZMA. I have been living with it for almost two years now. The ZMA exhaust, I am told, is a single piece stuff. No idea hos gunine this info is, but I have to believe. According to the mechanics at the HH, the only way out is to change the exhaust. With no plans to spend 6k for a new one, I started loving the rattling sound.

+1. Also this might not be the case but at least for me, it seems the tank do seem to get a little hotter when its empty than when its full. I normally run full tank till it get almost empty. I have the habit of hugging the tank and have noticed this.

okay, it is the exhaust cost!

Well, I was asking you the total Odometer reading and not how much the bike ran from the previous oil change. That might give us an idea about whether the timing chain issue can crop up or not.

The rattling sound sounds good indeed.
I was planning to go and buy a can from the local junkyard,. But i am not sure about the authenticity and working condition of that can until i get it fixed.
