Also I wanted to check back with you guys that what should be the setting for the tappets so that atleast I can go and tell him the same and not try and live by his rather indegenious methods.
And lastly if the tappets starts making noises ,does that indicate something? I mean I usually dont ride my bike harshly and it has completed one year so should the tappet noise be coming in the first place.

    please help.

Sigh... I can understand your pain. The situation is almost hopeless. It seems most Hero Hondas/Hondas come with the tappets adjusted very well from the factory. Whatever you do, don't let the retards at the service center even touch them. Once they do it, you can be pretty sure they will never be able to get it right. I just went thru all this day before yesterday at the HH ASC. The #@%@# mechanic who changed the top part of my cylinder messed with the tappets. Had to take it back to get it done right. I noticed that nobody at the ASC even seemed to know how to get the job done right. Not just the mech but not even the supervisors seemed to know. Long story... finally, I had to finally grab the tools from them and do it myself. So whatever you do, dont let them touch it (assuming they are set right in the assembly line). They dont need to be adjusted for a very long time (approx 50 - 60 k km, if done right.

i am not at all interested if i loose the top speed and have to remove the chain guard .. If an one have experience with Michelin M 45 4 * 18 a Please reply as soon as possible .
Try sending a PM to "stormtrooper" I have a vague memory of him telling me that he was running on michelins..
BTW, how much does the M45 cost bro? I will be changing my tires next month. If its around 2k I think i'd get it fixed.

About the top speed, I have heard that it wont decrease and in fact, the M45's are lighter than stock AFAIK.

      • Yes Ajay [stormtrooper] had a rear M45. Bunny also has used it.
Guys Sirac is the tire to go for. Even ceat vertigo is a good tire. Both are tube less.

Dont ever go to Continental , its really bad, skids like anything in try and wet surfcae too.

        • Jitu, even Praveenkm from Banlore has used M45 for the whole country trip. Please check with him.

And, I do not think M45 will touch the chain guard. Only Sirac will have problems with chainguard. M45 is very good and I do not think it will affect the top speed, if at all, very very marginally.

Thanx bro but I gave the bike to them any way this morning the noise was getting too much to take ,when the bike is pushed hard.ya the guys at SC know nothing .The best part is that those blo*dy morons wont even listen to you as well when you try and suggest something , they live under this illusion that since you paid 84 grands for the bike you ougth to be one aamir baap ki bigdi aulaad who knows (rather shouldnt) know any thing about bike atleast the technicalities.would get the bike by around after noon (told him I am in no hurry what so ever let the engine cool down as if its just outta a freezer and then adjust it) ,would let you know how bad they screwed it this time around.

            Regards,

no decrease in avg i am getting 40 in city and 45 on highways

top speed has marginally decreased by 5kms top i achive is 120

Rockyy: that makes me change 2 tires now. Front has Continental (ribbed pattern) and Rear TVS Jumbo. Super sad tires but both are brand new.
My friend dint know what tires meant. He was taken for a ride by the SVC guys.

                • Thank you Ravi and dreamz for the quick reply ..

i decided to go for M45 and i got it !!

In chennai it was not available but one tyre was avialable in bagalore
i asked my friend to go and buy it and he called me 10 min earlier telling me he got the tyre
The price was 1848 for tyre alone.
i am plannign to use my old tube (stock tube came with bike 22k done ) since it is not showing any problems now.
Hope it is ok to use the old tube with the new tyre. Or should i buy a new ??

i am going to banglore this weekend and probably by next weekend i will fit it on my Zma . I will post the experiance regarding the grip and feel it gives , any effect on mileage , top speed if any etc.. once i started using it .

@coplay - actually i didnt bought it from any retail tyre shop i contacted
Guarav lal ( gogreen is his id in xbhp) the all india sales manager of michelin and he gave me chennai and banglore contacts of michelin sales managers .. i called them and initially they told its difficult to get M45 4*18 size but later he arranged one in bagalore.. If you want it you can contact him ..i am not sure whether he have any ready stocks.

Or shud I get it serviced from the place i got my bike from. Prakash motors is far from my house. What do you Bangaloreans suggest?

I have Sirac on my Zma and have the chain cover too
120\80\18 does not foul with chain cover
                        120\90\18 does.

                          How much is the cost?
To what extend it is affecting top speed and mileage..

and i am pretty happy with it.
there has been hardly any loss in performance
and grip is pretty nice, both on and off the road

                            • @Raccoon :- Guess what those lamer could indeed get rid of the tappet noise but as luck might have it ,one more irritating noise is coming (though quite feeble),showed it to the SC again. The guy says that the piston block needs to be changed else sooner or later its gonna screw up the engine bad . but then not all is lost since my bike is under warranty would get it changed for free but the MOST bugging part yet again for the next 1000 kms i have to ride my bike sanely.
I dont quite know whether i should be crying or i should be happy that atleast my bike is under warranty.
And so much has been talked about HH bikes being so rugged and can take abuse , I know you can counter argue saying that may be I rode my bike harsly but then I treat her like my wife and yet ....

                                Dude,
I can understand ur pain. But remember, ur getting a new piston block. A new engine man.. Take it that way. After Kriss's incident we have all vowed to ride slow and safe. Take it that way.

ANd about ur taking care of her like a wife part, I dont think its ur fault. Ur engine must have been one among the six sigma. so just dont worry about it.
