I can understand ur pain. But remember, ur getting a new piston block. A new engine man.. Take it that way. After Kriss's incident we have all vowed to ride slow and safe. Take it that way.

ANd about ur taking care of her like a wife part, I dont think its ur fault. Ur engine must have been one among the six sigma. so just dont worry about it.
LOl Thanx bro but suddenly I feel like as if I am in college yet again the tension of clearing exams (in this case getting through the 1000 kms yet again) but ya as you said rightly I am almost getting a new engine so that should be the point of solace. I read about kriss's unfortunate incident ,terrible thing to happen.

Life's just to f**king weird we carry on with our daily chores not knowing what is there in stores for us.The ironical part being its all being encapsulated so well that most of the times we are so consumed in our miseries that we fail to see what a beautiful gift we are blessed with(the gift to feel the world around us,the gift of being a human).

There are so many a types of life forms in the solar system yet god chose us as humans , when we could have been any thing out of those lakhs of permutations and just for once I feel I am above the mundane feelings of 'getting a good car' or 'getting a good salary hike' and I can just sit back and cherish and above all respect the fact that I am a HUMAN.

Sorry if I sounded preachy ,just got carried away and could not stop the words.

I dont quite know whether i should be crying or i should be happy that atleast my bike is under warranty.
And so much has been talked about HH bikes being so rugged and can take abuse , I know you can counter argue saying that may be I rode my bike harsly but then I treat her like my wife and yet ....
It is not right to say that the tappets are set as they should be just because they are not making "noise". The job has to be done right... forget the noise. If the job is done right, the noise will take care of itself, not the other way around! How many km has your bike done? SEems quite possble that they have bungled something... else piston should not even need touching for a very long time. The imbeciles at the service centers are not capable any job which is comparable to the factory job. So even if they are replacing stuff in warranty, I would be very skeptical about the quality of work. Its most likely will not be the same as getting a new engine/bike from the factory.

How is the performance of your bike after they re set the tappets?

      • ^^ Especially, does the bike tend to stall when revved till about 5k rpm and then the throttle is released to idle? That would indicate a too tight tappet. Is idle stable?

          • Folks,

I'm planning to install a new tyre! I'm confused between MRF Zapper Q, Michelin M45 & Sirac. Can anyone suggest me the best of these? I'm already running my bike without a chain guard! So that won't be a problem. Mostly, I'd be happy to put 120!

            Please advise.

            • Guys I dont know but I am getting this weird feeling that ever since the tappet adjustment has been done on my bike ,the bike is revving far moe easily , I know that sounds quite stupid of me to say some thing of that sort but is there a connection between the 2?
@raccoon,@abhijeet:- the performance seems alright (except for that the bike is revving far more easily) touched 130 a couple of times and the bike felt quite relaxed.

One more thing I did notice was that after coming back that obnoxious (tik tik )sound wasnt there but i had stopped to fill in petrol mid way and at that point in time ,the sound was coming. Now if the pistons have gone kaput(as per the SC guys) shouldnt the sound be coming continously (bear in mind I rode the bike quite fast both the times so this factor can be very well ruled out that the engine wasnt hot enough)

              • Of course there is a connection!

If it revs cleanly, and generally feels good to ride, ignore any tik-tik sound. Even when I adjusted the tappet on my bike, the tik-tik sound was still there, even though it has decreased. Its the characteristic of the engine!

                • in the morning if i start my bike widout choke,, and when i gave throttle it stalls....so i have to use choke again and start and wait for 10-20 sec and then run...

so since engine is stalling on opening throttle .....is there is need of carb jet cleaning.???

                  • that's what you're supposed to do...use the choke and let the engine warm for around 20 seconds and then do your riding...

                    • Finally my bike had her first service done. I have completed 650 kms. Can I ride my bike beyond the speed limit now?

There is one prob with the my bike even the SVC guys said cant do anything.
I hear soem vibes from the Silencer. I am not sure what that is. They opened the silencer guard/cover and still could not figure out the sound. Has anyone faced this before?

silencer vibes is something i've unheard of in a zma

If it has been adjusted correctly now, and it wasn't so before, you can expect to see an improvement in performance. The connection is very much there! You should not observe any degradation in performance when the engine is hot.

Since I cannot hear the sound on your bike, its difficult to comment. Correctly adjusted tappets can make a very slight noise. But remember, it is very slight (at least in most of the HH bikes I'v observed). If its more than slight, chances are the job has still not been done right.

                            • Hello Guys

Yesterday i parked my ZMA in my friends building Bike was Polished and shinning red as if just got it from the showroom

However some stupid little kids strached the tank with some stones

strach is a little deep lines are clearly visible i think it will go away with some good strach remover polish

Guys please advise which strach remover polish is avalaible in mumbai

some of my friends advised me to do Buffing or plastic paint job

but i want to try some strach remover first

                              Comment

                              • you can use a rubbing compound / rubbing polish to take off the dirt created by the scratch. The scratch then fades off. But if the scratch is deeper than paint, there is no other way out - only painting or some other form of hiding it.
