If you check his odo (attaching pic from that article), he has done 1,60,924 KMs.Originally posted by Coplay@180 View PostHa.. No wonder Tejesh wants to sell his ZMA. Makes complete sense.
Nice catch Rockyyy
This guy is heavy tourer.
I don't think all of us will be doing so much of touring.
I think we guys will hardly cover 10K Kms in a year (unless many tourings).
Point here is our annual expenses on spares will be less.
He has done calculations assuming 20K Kms mileage a year, which is a but too more for most of us.
But yes, heavily priced spares by HH is simply unjustified.
Brake pads alone will cost 2300 rupees for ZMA (need to know about P220).
Something needs to be done from HH side to bring it down, or we need to find replacements like he has mentioned.
Well,
I too soon will join "Club Karizma", have booked it yesterday in yellow colour.
Guys,
I have not been following this community much.
So, please guide me in following regards.
- Things I need to check before accepting delivery
- Lubricant to be used till first service
- Riding style I need to follow
- Which is the best HH service center in south bangalore?
Also,
What are the initial things which might look as problems.
I know one -
* Hard gear shifting.
Mods,
I know I might be repeating this, but I don't know where to find this information.
If anybody knows, please let me know.

Karizma's disc pads were only 750 1.5 to 2 years back. Those disc pads are made by Nissin and Hero Honda imports it. The cost of import escalated too much (donno why) and the pads are now 2300, which is totally absurd. Hero Honda should provide us alternative pads (as in Xtreme and Hunk) at cheaper rate.HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler

My friend recently got his disc pads changed for 2300.
So information is cent percent true.
He thanked god for not having rear disc brakes in ZMA.
Well, it makes me wonder how can brake pad price shoot up by 3 folds?
I think we need to follow it up with HH rather than simply falling prey for HH's quality gimmick.

Club Karizma Veteran!
Hey ya'all xBhpians!
I am new here but I aint new to the ZMA. Bought it in August '03.
She is old, she has been better. She has been an asolute blast whilst sometimes she's been a total *****. Well I need some help with a few problems I am currently facing. But I will give you a little bit of history.
Early '04 - First big problem. Fuel tank. The silver inside paint started to melt or somehow dissolve. I was dumbfounded. SVC blamed me for repainting it. I laughed in his face. How could a tank be painted from the inside? And which insane idiot wud do such a thing Took the problem to the higher ups and got a new tank under warranty. Since then it kinda went downhill.
Mid-late '04 - Wierd sounds from the engine and a loss in low end torque. The sound was the typical tak tak tak. noticeable while decellerating. SVC ignored it. Took it to the higher ups. Turned out to be the cam tensioner. Point to note is that back then, even HH mechanics were unaware of the bikes quirks. Not that they are any better now. Got it solved for free after a month long battle and many calls to HH management.
Early '05 - First crash. Oil spillage. Slip-Grip syndrome. Got some plastic bits and the silencer protector shield replaced. Handle has never been straight since
'05-current - Well the bike has been pretty much running consintently. Consistently Crap that is. After numerous services, mechanics, fuel bunks, the bike refuses to pull at low revs. HUGE knocking. Between 1.5k to 3k revs under all loads in any gear. Happens ONLY AFTER 10-15 MIN OF RIDING! Got the tires replaced to Pirelli Sportdemon 120/80 and Michelin M45s 3.00. Handling improved by leaps and bounds.
Just got done with body repairs today. Fevikwik Jindabad!
Now for the bit where I need help -
* The engine knocks. Low rpm any gear. No low end pull at all. Once in the mid range she flies. Much better than most ZMAs I have ridden.
* Front fairing is super rattly. Fixed the cowls myself, but I dare not open the fairing. Dont have the dough to buy a new one. Contemplating a FZ16 headlight and junking the fairing. Will it work?
* Found a xenon HID kit real cheap. Cant quote. The guy wants tosell it since he got it as a spare incase his own conked. But its running strong. Should I get it?
* Minda Pulsar type dual horns. Any comments?
*** When I had removed the side cowls to fix em, I rode the bike for a whole day. The Low end had improved and there was almost no knocking. Same fuel in the tank, same state of tune. Installed them back and the problem came back. Its even worse with a pillion. Air Intake is not blocked. Filter is clean.
Also, the horn and headlight worked better. I am assuming it is due to the lack of the tail lamp assembly which had been removed. Could it also affect spark ignition current? Using a standard NGK plug. Good condition.
I would really appreciate the help guys! Thanks in advance.
Regards,

i don't know about the engine problem but you can use your stock headlight assembly without the fairing.check out this link My Karizma Mods & Ideas! - Page 19 - Team-BHP .or you can use double sided tape wherever the fairing is making vibrations. The fairing is easy to open.remove the headlight cable, remove the two screws on the top near the tank.then remove two nuts from under the fairing.rest are plastic joints just like the side cowl.in my bike the two plastic joints near the headlamp were broken so i removed the fairing and fixed it with araldite and put it back in.this was done after numerous attempts to get the service center guys to do it.i found out that i could put back the fairing without any vibes !!.ended up doing a better job then any mech. screw the SVC they are only interested in replacing spare parts and nothing else.I bought the Ninja 250R !!.....And then i woke up :(

1)Check out bike's physical condition scratches to be precise . You will get manual , one extra key, toolbox. I would recommend you to go for Teflon coating - it gives nice wet look and protects colour from fading .Originally posted by surendra.xbhp View Post- Things I need to check before accepting delivery

2)Stick to HH engine oil
3)Keep RPM below 4 k ie 60 kmph . Occasional burst to 80 kmph is OK
4)No idea
Initially you may face these problems - smell of burning from engine , hard kick , sometime electric start wont work etc

Sorry for double post in succession. Did not see this post.
Double sided tape will work though I will not recommend using "Araldite". Araldite is too strong and will have problem when you want to take apart the fairing. So I would recommend gasket sealant. This is rubber-like glue that does NOT becomes hard even after getting dry. Only problem is the one I came across comes only in white, red and transparent. Transparent will be transparent if only applied very thinly, else they become very visible.Originally posted by motorheadZMA View Post.. .or you can use double sided tape wherever the fairing is making vibrations. The fairing is easy to open.remove the headlight cable, remove the two screws on the top near the tank.then remove two nuts from under the fairing.rest are plastic joints just like the side cowl.in my bike the two plastic joints near the headlamp were broken so i removed the fairing and fixed it with araldite and put it back in.this was done after numerous attempts to get the service center guys to do it.i found out that i could put back the fairing without any vibes !!.ended up doing a better job then any mech. screw the SVC they are only interested in replacing spare parts and nothing else.

Hi Zma owners,
I had a small query for Karizma-R
This query is for my friend who wants to replace the headlight to a naked head light which moves with the handlebar, he doesnt likes the static headlight of ZMA-R, is it possible to replace the front fairing to a naked headlight, does it voids any sort of warranty or gives any other issues.

.it would be stupid of me to do that.used it on these plastic points which were broken off the fairing.
