  • I have noticed of late that my rear alloys get heated up badly even after a small 10km ride.
I suspected the brake shoes to be the culprit ( well, it is to a certain extent) but I rode the same distance without using the rear brakes and found out that the alloys were still quite hot.

Can someone throw some light on this?

    • Guys There is a gap in between the metre & the fairing's left and right side panels due to which it vibrates a lot and makes noise on uneven roads.Help me out to fix it up . Here is the pic

      • How did you get that gap? Was it not before? Did it happen when you refitted the fairing? If so, try refitting again. If not, just put some sponge or double tape in the gap; the noise will reduce.

Actually i met with a small crash few days back and after that during service i have refitted it again at its best but still the problem persists.Mechanic told me to change the small rod connecting to the fairing underneath to avoid noise but before going for that i need advice and comments .Infact he also told me to put some cloth in between for the time being. Can that noise be avoided after changing the rod??

What the mechanic said is correct. It is normal for the frame to deform once you fall. Mostly, the gap will close once you replace the frame.

Ohh yeah the correct word is frame, how much that costs?? will double tape solve the problem??as it'll be easy to pockets if the frame is pricey

It will be around Rs. 220-250

The pics are not clear; you should have taken the closeups with macro mode. But, I can make out the gray color which indicates a very lean mixture.

Ravi: The colour seems a light brownish grey...the mixture seems fine to me. The periphery of the electrodes have a matt black deposit on the contrary..the result either of extended use of the choke during startup or low speed riding in traffic before the plug was opened.

@anmol: The electrode gap seems a trifle less to me though. A slight widening of the gap would do good here.

Thanks a lot for the clarification sir.

Anmol, if the current spark plug has run for more thank 10k kms, change it.

the plug is 5000 km old.....and yes i use choke while staring.......

will widen the gap of spark plug and also adjust the mixture to make it slightly more rich.......

after doing so i will post the results.

                        • Something unusual which happened for the second time today on my 2005 model ZMA.
I was riding at close to 120+ and suddenly the engine stopped. Opened the tank to find very very little petrol. tried starting it but in vain. Pushed the bike for a kilometre and filled petrol. Tried starting almost 20- 30 times (with and without choke), but in Vain . The engine almost goes to life and then dies.
Finally put her to rest in my Office parking lot. Came back after an hour and she started in just one Kick.

This has happened once earlier at similar speeds.
I dont think this is normal. Can someone throw some light on this?

I have also started getting this problem. many a time, when i'm in 2nd gear (accelerating constantly), the gear just slips to neutral and makes a huge noise (obviously). It used to happen on my Pulsar from 5th cog to the 4th but was rectified. What could be the issue? My clutch kit is brand new. done some 4000km on it till now

Go to JC road, these stickering shop guys do it.
They tint ur tail lights, indicators, and even the glass on the Meters. THey use Sun film for this purpose.
If u have seen these mobile fone laminating process, they do something similar to that in some shops. and in some shops, they use normal Sun film.
                              Hope this answers ur Query.
