BTW sir , can't we just remove the resistor from the plug cap ?

Another doubt - I got a ZMA air filter and put it in in place of the ZEN mpfi one I had . I'm not sure whether it's real or due to my curtailed riding habit due to weather , but I feel the ZMA was more rev friendly earlier . Can you comment on it ? Also the exhaust sound is ( or seems to be ) less .

One update on my bike - had starting trouble and had to change the starter relay .
The OE ZMA cap is not friendly to resistor removal mod...so go in for the resistor less cap like shown in my pic....

Regarding the Zen Mpfi filter I too feel the same...When I got hold of stock Air Filter I changed from Zen to OE, and like you said felt loss in Acceleration, so back to old Zen filter...I had recently bought a new Zen filter for change and the filter price had gone down to 100/- ...

Had been to Hero showroom (Southern motors).
The sales guy was sure in telling that Karizma R comes with tubeless tires now, again, not sure if its because of his ignorance.
Unfortunately, I didn't know how to check if a tire is tubed/tubeless, hence couldn't confirm it.

On most tyres it is clearly mentioned 'TUBE TYPE' or 'TUBELESS' on the sidewall.....

So finally I found the AFR screw, thanks to this. Unexpectedly it was set at more than 3.75 turns, dailed it back to zero and set it at 2.75. Also set the rear suspension to it's softest setting. the ride just keeps getting better.

Guys I was reading some older posts of this thread. There was lot about engine damage during starting. So is this only during cold starts, or does it apply even to stops during traffic lights? Is there any way to reduce such damage( Someone had mentioned kicking at cold start, dead kicks, etc. Another said ZMA wasn't really designed for kick starting and it's engine/ internal components would take more damage from cold starts by kicking)?
                          So what's the real story?

The belief is that oil takes time to circulate and provide lubrication and , in an engine which had been resting for more than 2 hrs the oil would have moved down to the base of engine, and requires the oil to be pumped up by engine cranking...so kicking without actually starting with starter motor, was thought to be beneficial ...the fact is whether you kick or use self starter, the same moving parts move ..
But it is a well understood reason, that an engine which is started after 2 hrs, need time not only for lube to move into all critical areas, but also give time for engine warm up...so idling an engine for 30 seconds on start up of any engine is a good habit...

When starting the bike for the first time in the day one should never give unnecessary raise. This prevents from lot of damage. use choke and start via self/kick (doesnt matter) and let it idle for 20-30 seconds.

This is the color of engine oil after 1200KMs and it is 8 months old. What you guys think? Is it fine or should i change it. I generally change engine oil between every 2000-2500KMs. A friend was suggesting that in his new Karizma he changes oil according to manual that is at every 5000KMS i was shocked :O

Oil colour seems to be fine, u can change it around 2.5k -3k. I generally change whenever the bikes smoothness goes down.
