But I've had this setup since the past 1.5 years and have had absolutely no issues with the battery.

This problem is evident only when I apply brakes and brake-lamp switches on
!! It eats up a lot of current IMO.

Anyway since we are at the topic, can you suggest me a higher Amp rating battery that fits in without any mods or hassles ??

the battery is getting older now. that perhaps is the reason.

also check the relay wiring.hope you are using a BOSCH.

i dont think there is any issue with your setups. atleast you are running a stock addtional horn people are running all sorts of horns

        • Guys.. One querry..
Just now, happened to take a look at the bike seletor in 'What Bike' section. There, FZ, P220, and ZMA shows the same FE - 42 kmpl. My FZ gives roughly 38-40 on highways. But I think the figures are a little exaggerated in case of ZMA. Is it really possible to get that FE on ZMA..? If yes, what should be the riding pattern..? On highways..?

yes it is possible, start changing gears at 3-3.5 k and see the difference.

I'm not sure what make is the relay. I asked my mechanic to add one and he did right in front of me. (Or maybe I knew and I've forgotten )

I just want to tell you one thing. You can NEVER generalize on FE or top speed of any bike because every bike is different and every rider is different and the conditions vary too !! People never give importance to any of these factors.

And for the record, my zma gives me around 32-34 kmpl in the city and about 38-40 kmpl on the highway under sane riding. Again, my definition of sane riding might be different compared to yours !! Hope you got the point.

Yea.. I get that bro.. thats y I specifically asked 'riding pattern'. Like shift RPM and cruising speed. Thats how you describe your definition of sane riding or ripping, rite..?

Already mentioned by others regarding the FE. Just like to add, I've managed 50+, maybe 51-52 kmpl. Don't remember going below 40 though. Don't take my figures as normal for Zma as I am extremely lazy rider. I take my sweet time wherever, whenever . Just saying its possible .

mine also conked off after 2 years. at that time i fitted a pair of monkey horns with a melody maker.

i suggest that you buy an amaron 9amp mf battery it can be fitted with a little modification on the bike. it costs about 1500rs.i can assure you that you wont have to kickstart your bike for like 2 to 4 years provided that you use the bike on a daily basis.

My ride consists of eastern express highway (Mumbai). Do a lazy 60kmph all the way in 5th, no pillion .

@blade7: Shop keepers offered me Mobil 1 Synthetic oil several times though they are meant for cars. Most of them doesn't know the difference. Haven't come across one for bikes. Make sure they are meant for motorcycle.

                            • engine over heating

Iam new to Xbhp. I own a 06 ZMA which is getting overheated after a short ride in city or after a 25km ride in highway. I ususally ride at 60-80kmph and changes gears at 4000-4500rpm. The bike has done 36000Kms. I checked the bike with HH Service Guys and they did an engine decarb, changed clutchplates, sparkplug, airfilter but the problem is still present. The engine gives burning smell and the tank heats up after a stop after a 20km ride, no white smoke is produced. The servive guys said the engine is perfect but the heating is there they checked the oil pumps and finds no problem. The heating is less after service although the engine oil is not changed and after a 400km it starts over heating. I took it to a local mech he too didnt find any cause and told that the engineoil is good and there is no need to change for another 400km the engine was ok for short rides and again it started overheating. I was using HH oil then and changed to AGIP racing4t Fully synthetic But there is the same problem although 400km intervel changed to a 600km. Every thing in the bike is stock other than the rear tyre which is 120/80 zapper. Nobody was able to find the problem.
                              Guys please help me.
                              Thanks in advance.

bro first lemmie know the milage of ur bike and does bike give some sought of missing while blasting above 120km/h....and if milage stands above average then it could be lean mixture try and check jet and if require change it as this is main cause of engine overheating due to loadelse final verdict is timing chain if its even a little tight it will screw ur engine internally and the first stage is overgeating...and remember faulty timing chain does not make sound everytime ..good luck
