Claiming insurance or just local jugaad?
Things that need replacement (estimated price roughly as told at the SVC in parentheses):
1. Rear panel (Rs 3000)
2. Foot-peg rest holder (Rs 1200 for one side)
3. Visor's right nut broken off
4. Headlight holder (rubber caps) damaged, thinking since a while to replace the unit
5. Front left indicator cover damaged and few scratches on the fairing, so thinking about replacing the entire front unit (including fairing and visor etc).
6. Rear brake pedal
7. Tank (just a small dent on the top) ignoring it, but suppose if the fairing+rear panel of the old model (before 2011) is not available then will have to think about tank replacement as well to go for the matching pattern.
Questions:
Q.1 As the bike doesn't seem to have a huge damage so is it possible that insurance company ignores the claim?
Q.2 What should I do? Just keep going with the local jugaads or approach the insurance company?
Q.3 These days just going with jugaads for the foot-peg rests, and not finding it comfortable so want to fix it properly, how to approach for the insurance claim?
Q.4 If it does consider my claim, what percent or rather amount can I expect them to pay?
And, earliest of these, I want to buy and fit the N250R's front disc brake pads, as the mechanic warned me today about the worn out pads. Are those direct fit? : confirmation.Last edited by sunny_; 04-01-2012, 08:35 PM.

well he needs a bike to carry his heavy duty goods i mean he deals in mobiles and stuff so the back seat makes it impossible for him to take his bike out and he cant even hang his goods on handle so ultimately he decided to sell as he is having other bikes now i dont know in details whats in his mind.Originally posted by sunny_ View PostAnd why is the owner selling off his 5 months old R15 v2.0 at such a low price? I want to see that bike, please inform me when you visit his place.

For this , going to the Insurance Ombudsman is sufficient . They have full jurisdiction in the matter of all Insurance claim dissatisfaction/dispute , including life insurance . The decision of the ombudsman is binding on the insurance company , but not on the insured . I'm not sure if they can decide on broken-the-law part though ..Originally posted by shhbz View Post.... If you do not agree to the amount, then you have to go to court....

Changed engine oil to Shell 20w40
I had used Motul 3000 4t before, after 2000 kms I Changed the oil to Shell Advanced 20W40, now bike does not idle, it just gets off when started.
I am not sure if this the problem because of my engine oil change or some problem with my bike.
Can any one Help ?

I guess you were using 20w40 when Motul. If yes, then I don't suspect the oil but something got to do with you bike itself. Does this issue crop up only in the morning or everytime?Originally posted by sandyzma View PostI had used Motul 3000 4t before, after 2000 kms I Changed the oil to Shell Advanced 20W40, now bike does not idle, it just gets off when started.

Can you check the idling and probably some loose contacts at the spark plug area?
I'm using Shell AX7, 10w40 SS oil. Compared to 20w40, there is no sluggish start in the AM. Idles at touch of the button and quickly gets ready to take off. Sparkplug used NGK G-Power.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

Try setting the idle rpm when extremely hot to 2k. Now see if you're experiencing the same cold start issue????Motorcycling Experience:
