If you mean shell ultra fs then i used it from 10k odo till date at 56k odo. 2 main points-

    1. There is no "smoothest" feel or you will not "feel" any difference compared to semi synthetic oil but practically difference is there in terms of engine protection in extreme conditions which was proved during my 4000 km ladakh ride in extreme conditions.

    2. Drain interval is between 3k to 4k kms. But this oil is waste of money if regular riding is short rides within city limits.

Very aptly said. ..Shell Ultra FS is useful in extreme conditon.. for normal city & highway rides are good with AX7.
I presently using AX7 & mileage is 32K. In between i have used Ultra FS once ; after that i switched again to AX7.

Regarding the difference what i felt here is my two cents:

      1. On Ultra FS gear shift is a bit smoother than AX7 ( not a huge difference)
      2. Vibration is less on AX7
      3. After 2K , your engine response and gearshift will slowly deteriorate on AX7.

Could you post a closeup shot of the tread pattern + name of the front tyre please? From one of the uploaded pictures, it looked like Michelin City Pro (listed here). Can you also share if you bought them online or via any tyre dealer, and what is it's full product name on bill?

I couldn't find Michelin Secura mentioned anywhere online though I did see Ceat Secura, so just was curious if there's a new tyre from Michelin.

I too am looking for new set of tyres for my ZMA since few months now, but yet to find a good set which promises good dry/wet grip. Not too keen on going for any of the MRFs, and couldn't source Duro/PSD etc. Currently I have Michelin M45s on both front/rear, and they are starting to show their age. Already experiencing issues exactly like the ones mentioned in raj498's post below. The front M45 in the front has several cracks/uneven wear, so for now I suspect they are the cause.

        Odo - 45K.

i want to know whether this is common after riding it this long, Any thoughts.

I have changed fork oil, handle, coneset and front wheel bearings. Tyres are good with no cracks. Thanks in advance

So I did first long ride on my Karizma. My bike visited mountains for the first time. It was an amazing, to be remembered for lifetime experience.

We chose Kasauli Hills as our destination. Kasauli is around 350 KMs away from my place. Two of my friends joined me in this trip with their Bajaj Avenger 150 and Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 respectively.

We started around 7 am in the morning from Delhi (Karnal Bypass) after assembling there at 6.30 am, after that we had some tea and started further riding.

Our first stop was 70 milestone Dhaba for the breakfast. We were riding slowly in the morning with maximum speed of 80 KMPH only. After the breakfast, we continued our riding and took couple of short brakes for photography and refreshment. Our next brake was at Ambala cant. We couldn't find any tea shop over there so continued riding and finally took another brake at a dhaba on Ambala-Chandigarh expressway.

We entered Chandigarh at 12.00 PM, checked in our hotel at Sector 22- Hotel Sunbeam Premium and took some rest. After lunch, we started exploring Chandigarh. While I have been to Chandigarh many number of times, one of my friend had never visited Chandigarh, so we had to stay for the night at Chandigarh and start for Kasauli next morning.

After paying visit to Rock garden, Sukhna lake and Mata Mansa Devi temple, we headed back to our hotel, parked our bikes there and took a stroll in Sector-17 market later in the evening. The night life of Chandigarh is simply amazing. The sound & light show in the market is the main attraction.

After having dinner and enjoying late night stroll outside the hotel street's we headed back to sleep around 1 am. Next morning, we waked up at 7.30 am, had our breakfast around 8.30 and started for Kasauli ride at 9 am after checking out of the Hotel. The road for Kasauli is good till Dharampur chowk. After that when you take left to Kasauli, the roads are in very bad condition. The Shimla expressway is also under construction in various patches.
We reached Kasauli around 11 am, spent some time roaming around upper/lower mall road, riding to sun set point, having chai & maggi in the market.

We started back for Delhi at 1pm, reached Zirakpur via Panchkula bypassing Chandigarh around 3pm. After lunch at Zirakpur, we continued riding towards Delhi at 3.30 pm. Since we were bit tired, we chose to take frequent brakes rather than riding in a hurry. We crossed Delhi border around 8PM in the night and finally I reached my Rohini home at 8.45 PM.

It was my first experience of riding in the mountains, tackling the tough tarmac, riding on single lane twisty highways among the hills was one heck of an experience. The michellin tyres really held a great grip on those rough hilly roads. Karizma's engine remained refined all the time with enough power to take on the highways. There was a small oil marks around the clutch pivot where it is connected to the engine. Possibly some seal might need replacement that I will cross check with another workshop. All in all it was superb riding experience to the nearby hills.

got my carburretor tuned by various mechanic but it didnt help

one of them is saying carburretor is damaged
and it is a very common problem in karizma

So friends can you help me check whether carb is really damaged or it needs proper tuning

Yes, the carb can get very irritating. I can suggest one sure shot diagnostic procedure.

Get hold of a friend who has a karizma too. Get him to allow you to test your bike after putting his carb in it for a test. First make sure his bike runs properly in the first place. If possible put your carb in his bike and tell him to ride it and see how it feels. If you both ride your own bikes, it will be a matter of seconds before you guys yourself will automatically realise if any of the carb is at fault looking at how the bike behaves post the swap. This is the fastest and most sureshot test for a carb if you ask me.

Hello Folks . . Its been 5 years i am riding my ZMA with stock MRF zapper FS (33K mileage). I was thinking to change my tyres for sometime.. even though i see the treads are still prominent but i experience frequent skid on gravels and wet surface now with speed as low as 20kmph and moderately hard breaking.

So i am thinking to change the set of tyre with michelin before this monsoon. I found michellin has CITY Pro and SIRAC Street for ZMA size.

Can you guys help me out regarding the wet and gravel grip ; which model would be better. I am thinking to upgrade the rear tyre size to 110/80/90 and front either 2.75*18 or 80/100/18.
If i upgrade the front to 80/100/18 ; will there be any handling issue ?

Cant exactly pin point the problem. Could be the gearbox or a worn out clutch plate. Just speculating!!!

First measure fuel economy by "special fuel measurement bottle" you can get this in spare part shop or tool shop and costs around 70/-. Disconnect the fuel tank from carb, pour 200 or 300 ml of petrol in bottle then connect bottle pipe to carb petrol inlet. Before riding and connecting bottle burn all petrol from carburetor by switching off fuel knob and ride few kms. Now you have 300ml of exact quantity to measure. Ride normally till this 300 ml petrol finish and calculate exact mielage.

                                jerk in the sense like
                                i start the bike
                                press the clutch
                                push the clutch lever down
as soon as i push the lever down
it gives a sudden push ,
with a sound like cluck ,which is sometimes very loud
if i start my bike after a long time
