You touched 120 but did not get a chance to cross 120 that means you're dangerously doing 120, and as soon as you touch 120 you're releasing the throttle or so.

Forget what company claims. Yamaha claims 132kph for a FZ-16, is it really so? NO! When you don't believe on what company states in "Mileage" field how can you trust it in the field "top speed". Those data are under optimum conditions. Correct me if I'm wrong, my dear seniors. And stock Karizma does 132-133kph easily and whenever my bike tops below 130 kph(solo) I find that there is some problem, recent one was the Carb slide problem according to psr Sir and earlier it was lack of air flow to the air filter due to something placed under the seat....The bike was refusing to go past 122kph, with pillion.
Thats motivating gonna check top speed ASAP. And i didnt do 120 under dangerous conditions traffic density was very low when i did this but the thing is the road, it only has a straight stretch for 500 metres and then again curves starts

Anyways I've learnt a lesson, no matter how you ride you'r ride's going to give away sooner or later.

Thought the company states 125kmph many users here have done close to 140kmph.
Well point noted will check top speed properly . And am sure the needle was climbing up well will check again .

To all :- FYI...125 acheived on speedo is NOT equal to true speed. We purchase bike from company and they gifted us with speedo console with defects i.e speedo errors +/- and this is very common among automobile industry.
Cant deny what Sriram said what company claims is the true speed of the bike but speedo errors are pretty common in every bike but at present there is no other way than stick to the speedo values (in my case) otherwise i should check it with a GPS and all.

Yep! and 100kmph is more than enough for cruising unless we are going to do a long tour.

The Synthetic oil contains smaller oil particles which can easily slip through micro scratches, and blemishes in moving parts, oil seals, piston rings etc.,

              • Ashwin under the tappet Lock nut you have the rocker arm end ,and if you look under it you will see the adjusting screw body extending down and touching the Valve stem...you have to insert the 0.1 feeler gauge in between the adjuster screw BOTTOM and the VALVE STEM, at TDC, and ensure correct gap is set and Lock nut tightened after adjustment.

I'm not leaving any stone unturned. For now, I'm more desperate for the battery cage. Just my luck, when you said it is available, I was not serious. Cage and cables are in need. Sprocket can wait as such no problem.

Yes, I agree with you and I keep varying from 95-110 during my trips. Doing tour, constant 120+ on ZMA will make engine stressed. Having a drum brakes at the rear would make it dangerous in case of situations.

                    • The wait begins for the 250cc. I have a hunch that the new 250 bike may retain the Karizma badge or better just name it ZMA-Q (for quarter). So we will have a new name to the list Ceeber, Kwacker, Gixxer and now Zeemer.

However will moving from 223 to 250 really be an upgrade? (in the same sense as moving from a CBZ to ZMA). May be those who have driven both CBR250 and ZMA can comment on how much more A-rush does CBR250 give when compared to ZMA.

EDIT: Even though the previous post by psr is deleted, the question is rephrased what more can HMC do with the ZMA brand ? ZMA -> ZMA-R -> ZMR -> ?

Enquired today, everything is out of stock here, luckily we got 2 tappet O-Rings,only 2 of them were left,we bought it.and finally after spending one day adjusting and had some errors we are doing this for first time, and now the bike is smooth,no tappet sounds and still dont know why SVC suggested a Cylinder Kit Replacement for this.

Special Thanks to PSR Sir and Sarin Bro [KB100] ,Sarin bro had done this before, but first time in a karizma, anyway he had done the best to help us.

Detailed pics and Explanation will come soon.

Hearty Congratulations .......So finally you and Ashwin had sucessfully done a D I Y of Tappet gap adjustment, which even the SVC dread to do....

Thanks sir,Actually Sarin Bro done it,we had tried but failed and lost compression(Over Tighten ) after that sarin bro helped us,loosened it and showed us how to do it.But the T mark confused us a lot,its not working when its on the T-Mark. When adjusted on the T-Mark,it sounded like a Sewing machine.
