@acs1207 (sorry dont know ur real name) and ashwin. Thanks guys. I went to the ASC couple of hours ago, the bike had the fairing removed though it was not on the bay. The service manager told that i should be able to get the bike by evening, though if it extends to next day i wont be surprised.
I did not got to DIY route because i have never owned a bike earlier so i thought let me get things first fixed up at ASC and then onwards will work on the problems, as they surface, on my own.
As sunny said, for me too the clock reset when i was using self. The guy whom i purchased the bike from did hint that battery needs some charging, i guess i wud rather replace it with a new 9AH one though i am not sure if i can do the adjustments needed to accommodate the extra width. @Aneesh:Welcome back bro. Will 7ah batt. fit as-is in the compartment ?
Apart from this: If the fairing vibrations are not fixed i will rather have it removed and make it Karizma-N. My reason for going for ZMA was its relaxed 223 cc engine and longish wheelbase rather than looks so i don't mind if the bike starts looking bland.
Also, is it advisable to get the chain cover removed so that it is always in sight?

Got the bike. Total bill was 1442.0/- Here are the top 5 expenses:
Service Charge: 250/-
Oil: 249/-
PIPE STRG HANDLE: 249/-
FRAME BODY REMOVE: 120/-
HANDLE R/P:100/-
Apart from that Acc. Cable B: 74/, CABLE ASSY SPDMT: 64/, Rotor & Screen Filt:90/- were some other charges.
Bike is now much smoother and pickup is good too. I didn't notice any vibrations too.
2-3 time i started the bike (kick/self) the engine did not shut off now. Lets see how long this lasts.

Yes,7Ah battery will be a direct fit.@Aneesh:Welcome back bro. Will 7ah batt. fit as-is in the compartment ?
If you check and maintain every 500kms,then it will be a good idea. Also, is it advisable to get the chain cover removed so that it is always in sight?

Alright thanks for the info .. Then I'm getting it replaced ASAP.Originally posted by shubhamAT View PostMay be its not that expensive. I remember seeing on the Karizma Mod's thread of TBHP that FZ handlebar costs 300/- so now any price between 200-400 seems reasonable. Though i m not sure if the handle bar was replaced.

IMO , if the AFR is the culprit , you should be able to move the bike with the choke engaged .Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostNope, did'nt skip my mind, but that's a secondary remedial measure if the first one fails i.e according to me, since when I had faced this issue I just retuned the AFR according to psr sir's instruction i.e 4 turns and the issue was gone, thats why I first mentioned the AFR, and if he'd failed in rectifying it then I would've mentioned about the CDI connector. Its like you cut your hand and the first thing you'll do is try to fix it yourself, and if that fails then you'll go to the hospital, its something like a reflex thingi, sorry
.
My bike when bought new from the showroom was perfect, it would start in the first press of the button and all, but a few days later, it showed its true nature and would take multiple tries to start and if the engine would shut off while throttling from idle, then I posted this issue and got it sorted out by keeping AFR at 4 turns.
Talking about the meter resetting, recently came to notice, my bikes meter and clock resetting, but the thing is am not able to point out whats the cause, because usually, when the battery's weak and we do something like use pass or honk horn it should reset, but mines not resetting like that, it just rarely happens and that too without any intervention from my side.
Replies in BOLD.
Your resetting could be some loose contact if it resets when you're doing nothing . If the battery is weak then it should reset when you crank the engine since I guess the starter motor draws the most current .
Your battery is too weak . Try recharging it and if the charge does not hold , replace it - preferably with a 9Ah ; then you can go for 55/60W H/L and dual horns without any trouble .Originally posted by patelnimesh_29 View Posti do have the same problem, reason battery is weak. Needs a change. Every now and then it gets reset. Some times the bike is not on just the ignition is on and if i use discbrake then also it will get reset. Also i have noticed during my night drive when Hid is on, whenever i honk horn the light will be bit weak, same thing happens when signal light is turned on. Please tell me which battery should i go with. Amaron is failure thats what i heard from one of my mechanic and one battery shop. They give 2 years warranty but if any time we need a change it will take minimum 10 days for replacement so i have not moved ahead with amaron 9 amp mf. Please suggest me 9 amp battery which is best and can last long.
Thanks
If washers doesn't help in vibe control , then try keeping a thickly folded cloth in between the fairing and the instrument panel .Originally posted by shubhamAT View Post@acs1207 (sorry dont know ur real name) and ashwin. Thanks guys.
Hi - I'm Arun . But better use the username in the thread since then the others will know whom you're referring to .
I did not got to DIY route because i have never owned a bike earlier so i thought let me get things first fixed up at ASC and then onwards will work on the problems, as they surface, on my own.
It's never too late to start it !!

Try recharging as I said in the reply above . If it fails , then replace .

With chain cover removed , you have to clean and grease it regularly .
Is PIPE STRG HANDLE: 249/- the short form of "using PIPE STRaiGhten HANDLE " ???Originally posted by sunny_ View PostCongrats bro.

100/- for a handle replacement !! For those not used to it , it'll be less and for DIY-ers it'll be too much.sigpic

In pre 2011 ZMA yes, in post 2011 ZMA no.

Sir, thats the strangest part, when cranking/windtoning/headlighting etc. nothing, i.e even when the bikes off, but surprisingly, sometimes when I turn on the ignition I notice that the clock and trip has automatically resetted. Its strange.Motorcycling Experience:
