      • @ Ravi: I'm using HH oil, don't know which make as i've got the bike serviced only once. In the second service will check out the manufacturer.
I was thinking of switching to gulf oil now, as I've been using it for the past eight months on my 2004 P150 dtsi and it's brilliant. And yes, i was refering to Vaas's grey Karizma leg guard in my query. thanx for the response.

@ Vaas 2000: I had seen the CBZX crash guard pics before the site crashed. Could you please explain how did You fix it on your bike? I want to get it done om my ZMA r.

@ Maverick: Finally you got your bike. congrats. Just be cautious in the running in . I know how i managed to do1000 kms. Though do give ocassional bursts.

Yesterday while returning home...went to the service center for gettting the chain adjustment done. While doing it the mechanic broke the right side adjustor and i had to pay for it. I argued with the service center guys, but in vain....had to pay for it. Damn the service center guys they just don't care for you bike.

Also read few pages back about crashguard query, nope, i didn't fit P220 crash guard on Zma I have fitted a fabricated Cbz Xtreme crashguard on my zma. I guess it's been almost a year since i fitted it, it's doing its job well, hasn't touched any bumps or hit ground etc during many of my rides so far. Practically useful.

          Pics of crashguard:

Also about the Query of fitting 9amps battery to Zma. Just fitted it 2 days back, the Amco Suckasa :P battery conked with in a year and half . Will post pics soon of new battery and it's fitting . Details:

          Brand: Amaron
          Model: Pro Bike Rider
          Capacity: 9amps
          Type: Sealed, maintainance free
          Cost: Rs 1500/-
Warranty: 60 Months (Yes, thats true!)
          Where?: JC Road, Bangalore

Now comes fitting part, no major worries, this battery is just marginally bigger in terms of height to stock battery, so a bit of hammering to the battery "cage" made this battery fit inside with out probs. Next about the "gate" or battery lock, That has to be bent a bit as this battery is a bit "fatter" than the stock. Once the "gate" is bent to accomodate the "fat" battery, you need to use a lengthy bolt instead of the small bolt to "fix" the "gate" and voila! you got extra power fitted right in to the same battery "cage"

Iam currently running 55/60w Halegen Philips vision plus 50 Bulb and a single horn, will be getting dual horns by weekend hopefully (again! my earlier one fell off during a ride )

My friend's been using Osram night breaker on his zma and it is THE BEST halogen i have seen so far, the high and low beams are too good, but pricey at around Rs 1600 for 2 bulbs (they come in pairs)

I will be going in for Bixenon HID (depending on santa to source one, he's already got dual bixenon Hids on his R15 devil ) in future with an auxilary spot lamp, now that i have a good and bigger battery, will post up if i end up getting these done.
Vaas is back after a long time. Good to see you mate. But, I still remember somebody putting a P220 crash guard on Karizma.

Yeah! the nightbreakers are really good. I have been using that. Now you are getting nightbreakers a pair for just 1050 bucks. We got them from JC road.

              • ok guys - got ready today morning for the regular ride to the office and the battery just conked off... the display flickered, trip meter and clock reset and the starter would not engage at all!

@vaas - thanks for the information. Will be going in for the amaron battery over the weekend most likely! two questions - did you get some price for the old battery? also, just out of sheer curiosity, what are the warranty terms? The 5 year warranty is just too good.

@ravi - read about your crash in the other thread. Hope you're fine! how did it happen btw? Take care, full R&R advised this weekend

Dude, just arguing will not get you very far. If they break it, they have to pay for it. You should have escalated the issue and created a huge fuss. Your paying for their breakage simply encourages them to break umpteen more parts! If that is not due, its no use cribbing about how they handle bikes in forums!!

How much was the extra expense incurred on that..!!??

                        • Yes! Try calling up the Regional and Head Office of Hero Honda. Also speak to the area company service engineer.

Do you feel that they were shabby/careless/unprofessional in handling yor bike? Tell them that very affirmatively. Tell them you complained to the Manager and all, but they did not pay attention to you at all. And that you cannot trust such people with your bike as they may break something bigger next time... etc., etc.

I'v had parts they have damaged/replaced few times. Its more a matter of principle rather than just the cost of the part involved. Unless you do this, you cannot expect things to improve. Remember, we get what we deserve.

Inder !!!! Seeing you after a looooooong time in Zma thread. I have been thinking you sold your Zma and bought a P220.

Anshul@, you better do what Raccoon said. You need to escalate these issues, even it is minor.

                            • Also, as far as I know, it will be the dealer who will have to pay for the expense from his pocket. HH will not pay for it... they will only force them to do it! Its possible he (dealer) may recover it from the mechanic. And that will definitely pinch them... esp. if everyone does this!

And like it or not... they WILL be forced to change their shabby ways!

Long ago, when I got my 1st bike (HH), I had gone to give it to another dealer for free servicing. I wanted something tightened and told the mechanics to do it. They did, but I noticed that he didn't tighten it as much it should be... so told him to do it. They said, they dare not do that as if anything breaks, the cost is recovered from the mechanic's salary... and HH parts are expensive, so I should not make them do it! I don't know what happened to this model... either HH/its dealers have scrapped it, or maybe only some dealers follow it, as of now. Unless there is this kind of accountability, don't expect anything to change.

And we, the customers are equally responsible for what kind of services/goods we get. So let us do our bit.

                                Very true....
@anshul: you should have gone ahead and demanded that you want it to be replaced, coz its not your mistake that it broke (tell them you want ur bike to be in the same condition as it was earlier). Demanding only gets you things you deserve.
Its not the cost of the indicator... but the thinking of the service mechanic.... that needs to be changed... the principles of handling someones property and taking ownership till the service is over.
You can still claim for it by writing a mail to the regional head of HH telling the whole story.... that will surely help. Go ahead do that.
