Tell them you complained to the Manager and all, but they did not pay attention to you at all. And that you cannot trust such people with your bike as they may break something bigger next time... etc., etc.

I'v had parts they have damaged/replaced few times. Its more a matter of principle rather than just the cost of the part involved. Unless you do this, you cannot expect things to improve. Remember, we get what we deserve.
Regarding this point..i would like to mention that what you said holds true...bcoz its solely his fault, ideally he should not charge for it..but if he is charging for that then one can always escalate the matter to the top officials there..!! Also, put a mail to the HH service head reporting the whole issue..!!

Unfortunately HH is not as responsive as TVS...

Exactly the reason why i don't get my bike serviced by anyone else..but me I haven't done the 3rd and 4th service since i wasn't satisfied with the 1st and 2nd service especially the way they handle the bike. Till now all's well... i know the warranty on the bike is now void but that doesn't hurt my peace of mind i get when trainee mechs are not allowed to fiddle around on my bike. I had a 70 model Bullet, that bike has moulded me into a good mechanic For things un resolvable by me i prefer to visit firneldy neigbhorhood 4 stroke specialist where he will do things when i keep a watch.

          Agree with that completely.

The crashguard was fabricated by fellow Xbhpian Sujay in mangalore, i got it from him. Basically the mounting points at the bottom of the crashguard have been extended to meet the mounting points on the frame. You just have to buy a cbz X crashguard and extend the bottom part of the mounting point and it fits in with out issues.

Escalate the clumsy service to regional office, walk in to their regional office and complain, they do take action.

Yeah! the nightbreakers are really good. I have been using that. Now you are getting nightbreakers a pair for just 1050 bucks. We got them from JC road.
thanks bro, it was work induced hibernation all these months, now am back momentarily
I think i remember a xbhpian in bangalore having put smaller Fiero F2 kind of crash guard on zma loong back, it was after seeing that i started hunting for one

Nightbreakers at that cost are a steal man! Please tell me which shop you bought it from in jc road, will check them out.

@vaas - thanks for the information. Will be going in for the amaron battery over the weekend most likely! two questions - did you get some price for the old battery? also, just out of sheer curiosity, what are the warranty terms? The 5 year warranty is just too good.

Even if battery is totally dead, after you ride for some kms (say 5 kms) the battery will get charged a bit, then you can use self start etc. But it will again go dead if you park bike for more than half and hour. Check for water level in battery first, never run it dry. My amco batt died prematurely after 2 cells in it went dead

Old battery is dead weight man, the battery guys don't pay for it, you can leave it with them if you want to. I haven't, i now have my 2 old batteries for display at home

Vaas, I do not know the shop name exactly, but I will give approximate location of that. In JC road go towards Town Hall and you will get a signal where a right turn leads to Urvashi theater. At the signal take 'left' and after around 100 meter you get this shop on right side. Hope I am clear about it. Praful knows the shop name exactly. You can PM him.

My friend recently enquired for this amaron battery for his p220. The dealer himself did not suggest the battery. If once the battery completely drains by chance, the battery will not be reusable it seems. The warranty will be only once in the five years. He told us to be aware of that fact and go for it and we listened to him. He bought TATA green battery and he is happy with it. I once used TATA green battery in my Blaze and the battery was excellent. A few of my friends also used TATA and are satisfied with it. My next change would definitely be this battery.

              • @ Racoon: Dude I completely agree with you and I WILL call the regional office reporting the same.
@ Vass: Thanks for explaining the processs of fitting the crash guard.
@ inder: I paid 80 rs. for the part.

The matter will definitely be escalated to the higher level and i will ensure that it be worked out.

Hey, thats not at all true! I'v always got money for my old batteries! That money is of course adjusted towards the purchase of new battery from the same dealer! And it not really an option - "you can leave it with them if you want to". Old batterys are a major ecological hazard! You SHOULD/MUST give them to a battery dealer who will pass it on for recycling. Never discard it with other garbage, etc.

Dude, dealer should be the last person to ask for advice! They have their own vested intrests to think about... not yours! Amaron is one of the best in the business as of now, and everyone (including me) who I know of, is quite happy with the batterys. Best thing are sealed batterys - the dealer/service centre dont get to rape your battery. As for warranty terms, see them in print yourself... dont believe the dealer. Suggest you try another authorised Amaron dealer.

If buying any other battery (non-sealed), make sure the electrolyte is filled only upto the MAX mark... and not above that.

Initially the news was that some Amaron Bike battery's were found to have a glitch and supply was stopped for a while to rectify that. Ravi inquired during that phase...

Even I inquired during that phase and I was told the same by two battery walas... I too settled in for Tata Green (not that Amaron had one for my need but when I asked about it this is what I was told).

                              • Four days after being Zmafied Ive got one major issue that i want clarified.

My bike's copiously radiating heat after a few kms of riding around town. At every signal, i can distinctly feel the engine heat
No loss of power etc occurs though.
Have clocked 118kms and will be getting the oil changed latest by monday...
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.
