I removed the pipe when i shifted to another carburetor since the pipe and the carb weren't working together anymore. It's a great pipe to have for stock/near stock karizma engines, sounds good too. But don't expect any marginal increase in speeds, what it does is increase the torque from low to mid.

Excuse my non timely reply I'm irregular with logins.

Damn it!! another crash, 2nd one in a period of less than 8 months, this time it was a call center indica taking a U turn on a one way god only knows why? i applied brakes and bang i was on the tarmac with bruises on hands, palms and sour ankle and knees. Now this post is of course to gain a little sympathy, and as well a few imp suggestions. Here i am at my home took a day off from work and trying to analyze what went wrong, well i can call myself a seasoned rider, i did not do a horrible mistake per se but thats the way u will hear from anyone who has crashed, i did not apply the brakes too hard i was at normal speed of around 50 bt what went wrong then, is it the braking dynamics or the tyre or the road, i guess ZMA is very sound when it comes to braking but on both the last two instances i skidded identically with my front brake locking and me skidding to my right, the tires(stock zappers) on my ZMA are fairly old but not as much 19k and 2years approx. so is it the tire which looses its grip, i want to change them yaar right away, was about to go in for a MichelinM45 for rear n front last weekend but i lazed and now i m paying for it, The front fearing came loose from the right side the handle bar is gone and the speedo is tilted towards the rider.

I need you guys suggest on anything and everything may be the braking technique or the tire change or a disc brake check up i feel disgusted man never fell on my bajaj super or my cbz, not even on my RX100 then why this much on the best. please comment.

      • ^ zmagic : dude, i think the tyres are at fault as bcoz of braking the bike doesnt skid..its always bcoz of bald tyres..even i hv experienced the same..

Get urself a new set of tyres and then check the difference..!! M45s are really good in terms of grip as they are of soft compound...!! Btw, you can look for better options in the tyres thread too..

Light lena yaar... yeh sab hote hain... looks like you stepped on the rear brake pedal a bit hard... that is, if your tyres are in good shape and if they are not over inflated...

Dude, bald tyres aren't supposed to skid on good road surfaces. Yes, on wet surfaces/gravel/etc its a different story.

Does your ZMA have a Zapper Y on the rear? After trying out few tyres recently, I can say that Zapper Y definitely does not have a good grip. If there is a bit of sand/gravel, the grip is even more pathetic. I'v had a few scary moments on emergency breaking, especially.

Yup, currently the bike's running on the stock Zapper Y on the rear..and its 30K old.. and skids very badly on pressing the rear brakes hardly..!! In rest cases if i apply the brakes lightly then its fine..

You have stepped in to my shoes mate!! I have around 5 crashes till now, with almost all being front wheel skid due to locking under panic braking. When I first crashed and got bruises on my palm and knees, I first bought a pair of gloves and a very good helmet to protect myself from palm injuries and head injuries (the major impact areas when you have a front wheel skid).

After this, crashes have become routine to me, and I have come out of all the crashes without major injuries to me (except one where my upper front two tooth half broken, so mysteriously as to I still do not understand how it happened without any injuries to my gums lips or face.)

One thing I have noticed of all the crashes I had, I applied front brakes when the handle was not straight. Even with slight turn of handle, if you apply front brakes, the front tyre gives way. Remember if you applied brakes in this way.

Do not worry much about crashes. Be careful next time and learn from them. Sometimes, you cannot avoid a crash, things will just turn out to be like that. You can control your bike and not other factors on the road. I advise you to wear a pair of good certified padded gloves and a very good full-face helmet.

Just recently I had a crash, and I cameout without even minor injuries. Take a chill pill and enjoy the riding.

                      • My Zma's throttle is getting stuck at times. At the first service on Saturday, i asked them to look into it, but nothing seems to have been done.

Will be going to the HH SC tomorrow. Any ideas as to what could be the problem area..?
