Well I was planning for the Iridium plugs not for any performance gain but smoother throttle response.
As far as headlights go yes the White & Yellow combination does look odd, but its still cool as anyother pilot lamp maybe over the specified wattage for the zma.
Btw I have changed the battery to an Amaron 9ah 2 days back. It was a straight fix no mods required just a longer screw for the battery lock clamp. No issues as of now. I went from 7ah to 9ah as I was also contemplating a dual horn.
How about the Castrol Power 1 Racer its a 10w40 fully synthetic oil. Anyone used this before?

If you rip the Zma (bursts of acceleration) and keep it above 6000 rpm all the time, you will get only 30-35 kmpl max. Typically, this is what everybody does with the karizma.Originally posted by prakash_mvpa View Posthmm...so why the mechanics and bikers are so anal when it comes the topic about ZMA?(here-kerala) .already the bike is so rare!and they say it get only 30-32kmpl maximum.I guess Ravi@17bhp can help them
It all depends on how you ride the bike. In a long ride, if I keep the bike near 100 kmph all the time, it gives me only 30-32 kmpl. Whenever I cruise at 80 kmph, it gives me 40-45 kmpl.
In city ride, I go easy on acceleration and keep the rpm under 5000. At 5000 rpm, it goes to 80 kmph which is sufficient for a city ride. With occasional bursts to 100 kmph too, you can get a mileage of 40kmpl easily. The trick here is to go easy on acceleration and not ripping. Sudden burst of acceleration consumes lot of petrol.HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler

In a recent trip to panvel on 25th oct...i got a very good mileage of whooping 47kmpl...! Ride conditions : good road, cruising at 70-80 kmph on the highway in the nite and fuel used normal speed...!!
And one more update, this 55/60 W bulb....proved to be very useful in the nite at the old bombay-pune highway(which is without any streetlights) ... !!

What is this??? All getting huge mileage??? the max I got was on my last ride from chennai- bangy. The max speed I touched on that trip was only 90 kmph and mostly kept it in 70-80 kmph. Still I got only 40kmpl.I'm getting 34kmpl in Bangy city now, but my riding style isn't that smooth, I give sudden bursts of acceleration to get through the gaps and also heavy braking. I thought 34 was good, and here all of come with 40+ ???Ride Safe. Respect others on the road.
Safety never hurts

dont get dishearten buddy.....the mileage figure basically depends upon the usage of the bike....!! The basic reason of me getting a good mileage is that my daily commute to-fro from home to office is 8kms and dat too most of the times the roads are empty....so i can easily keep speeds of the likes of 60-65 ....!!

I am consistently getting 25kmpl. Highway or city.
May be with stock tires i will get 2-3 kmpl more

There is something wrong pkm. I never got less than 30 on an average in any kind of riding.Originally posted by praveenkm View PostI am consistently getting 25kmpl. Highway or city.

In India, the quality of petrol also plays a major role in FE variance. Most of the bunks around my place cheats and I used to get only 30 kmpl. I have realized it recenlty. In the last three months, I have been consistently changing the ptrol pumps and settled to one petrol bunk which is giving me around 40 kmpl in city (keeping the riding habit same for all the tests).
I would advice anybody to check the mileage with all the bunks around your place, and then settle to a pump that gives you more milage.

Ok, here's my experience with the fuels(all from good and reputed petrol bunks) that i have tested...!!
1) Normal Speed -> Its said to be 91 octane....pretty good for city rides/touring....!! the bike runs pretty smooth. Currently running on this one.
2) Speed 97 -> Its an overperformer for the bike.
by this i mean that it gives kickass performance......really good acceleration...!! But a BOMB on pocket.....70rs./ltr
3) Power -> too good to use....bike accelrates good....bike runs pretty smooth at high speeds, u dont realise that the bike is cruising at 100km/hr.

My karizma generally coughs on high-octane fuels. I settled for normal petrol and it is very easy on my pocket, given the difference of 4 rupees per liter.

my this comment was post using 300V.Originally posted by Akshay. View PostSheel motul 300V is just too good to try any other oil.
it also keeps the valves, and engine internal free of carbon deposits.
& as far as deposits go,nothing comes close to changing oils instead of topping up(in synthetic you have to top up every 2000kms).
one secret of Parsi ownership is changing oils every 1000kms.

He is using M45 and Sirac, rocckky i think the tyres are the culprit michelin tires weight too heavy, i sold my tires off after using for 200kms faced some serious mileage problems.Originally posted by praveenkm View PostYeah HH ppl cant seem to figure it out. btw what tires are you running on?"Engine tuning is not an exact science, but with some practice and patience you'll get comfortable with your skill and be able tune for any conditions mother nature throws at you"
