    look at the CBZ xtreme/hunk and the Uni ... now tell me who is the more conservative of the two??

    World class bike? stunner? now wheres that tacho.....oops i forgot to add it...and whats this? ohh..the choke lever. Great ...the last time i saw something like this was in the Ashok Leyland buses with their DI engines

    IMO i think honda is keeping HH under the leash. I cant think of any other explanation why the company that gave us a stunning bike with 100/90 rear tyre, rearsets, a neat black powder coated upswept exhaust, a complete console with a tacho and a nice short stroke engine way back in the late 90's is stuck with monor sticker upgrades and horrible dhak dhak ads....

    Even the with the limited options they created a wonderful bike - CBZ xtreme with superb handling and a surprisingly enthusiastic engine (considering how the same engine behaves in the uni) and not to forget the ugly goitre.

    I am not a HH fan boy...but i think that HH has much more than what it is allowed to display thanks to Honda's restriction. Its time HH shook off Honda off their backs and showed everybody what they are capable of.

    PS: I personally believe that the last line I said will never happen. Sad but true.

        i certainly dont agree with that
        i only thing that hero has got is its dealer network is very well established as it is growing since the 90s (just as the case with maruti) while the tech and products is all honda.
        and if stunner wouldnt have been a world class product the big red would not have presented in in the european markets along with their products like the the blade,cbr600rr etc.
        the only r&d bir going on at hero honda is how to but new stickers and graphics an roll "18 new models" in year.
        the moment honda pulls out hero will fall like a pack of cards as had happened with kinetic honda and it will be left with electric scooters and heropuch like products
        the only good product since the karizma is the hunk which is a copy of honda tiger 150cc meant for southasian markets
        its the fear of product canblization with those of herohonda is keeping honda at bay
        why dont you look at what yamaha and suzuki are doing with their products!!!

          (1) if stunner is a world class product according to Honda then i have nothing to say

          (2) Is it ? then please explain why the CBZ xtreme has so much character esp the engine and handling when compared to the uni which is the donor bike..but i do not disagree with the fact that HH spends more time with the stickers rather than the bikes.

          (3) Disagree. KH did not have a competive product portfolio when Honda pulled out and that was the reason of their demise. HH sells more vehicles than Honda and it can never fall like a 'pack of cards' ...please

          (4) agree. Hunk is copy of the tiger w.r.t to the design but mechanically its the xtreme...so why dont you consider the xtreme?

          (5) I am assuming that you meant Honda is worried abt cannibilization because of which HH is not allowed to develop new tech. In which case i agree.

          (6) Yamaha, agreed. Suzuki??

          • Need help

            Hi guys, I replaced my ZMA's front tyre a couple of days back at CEAT shoppee. I have put on CEAT Secura F85 (2.75x18).

            Now the problem: The bike kinda pulls to one side at turnings (when I lean the bike a bit). If I take a left turn the bike pulls left and when right it pulls right. To put in short, a similar kind of experience as if I'm ride a bike with a punctured tyre.

            My guesses are that the CEAT shoppee guy () improperly installed the tyre (this is evident as the speedo' needle is not working), or improper wheel alignment. Could there be any other reason?

            I'm planning to get the bike to a good mech and get the set up throughly checked. Just thought I could get a few tips from you guys.

                I dont think the rear pillion seat is that inclined. Its much flatter than the other bikes like Unicorn. Neways I was planning this backrest as a temporary thing and to lean back once in a while. I was also planning to making a carrier kind of thing ala Yamaha Frazer grab rail that used to come to keep a small travel bag for support......i guess all that has to be welded in place, the carrier i mean.

                    (3) sure...lets see what happens to HH if Honda ever pulls out..which they wont cos HH is still one of their largest money making venture.

                    (4) Sorry bro, I wasnt even talking about design. Design is highly subjective. I was talking about the performance of the bike. Compared to the xtreme i guess even the mighty CBZ has to give way.

                    (6) I saw the GS150 R an thats precisely why i asked you about suzuki. Again you seem to be inclined in favour of design so I wont comment on that.
                    Best speedo? shape wise its a mirror image of the RTR's console. have u seen the RTR's or R15's ConsoleE? The suzuki's got a gear indicator-so? The shaolin had it way back then. Does it have a top speed recorder or a 0-60 timer ala RTR ?? Lets face it...Suzuki has not broken any new ground with their new bike just as their 125cc bikes

                    Oh...lest i forget...6 gears for 13.3bhp? why? And yeah...the bikes supposed to weigh 149 kgs... you can figure out the rest.

                    Anyways..no more discussion from me cos its going OT.

                      • Good Karizma mechaninc in Bnagalore?

                        Hi,

                        anyone know a really good mechanic for Karizma around Indiranagar?

                        Used to got to Millenium motors Koramangala. They were pretty good earlier and i had no complaints. but then bike just stopped dead after 950km after 4th service and the HH guys said that it was a tappet adjustment problem. Now I donot mind the bike having a breakdown due to part breakage but i draw the line at breakdons due to adjustment. Prakash motors was worse. the guy there didnt even note down half the problems in the job sheet till i insisted and still half the problems werent solved.


                        Anyone know how to get rid of the air lock in the petrol tank which stalls the bike. and then gets solved by opening the fuel tank cap?

                          was just checking the thread from the begining and thought of posting my own experience...... I had a Chinese lamp in my zma...60/55w, the one with a bloody blue PAINT on it, though the light was decent enough but owing to the oncoming Foggy days was looking for a change to somthing that would suffice the need in riding thru the Fog.
                          In my Car's Boot was lying a Halonix Rainbow(the tubes that have a multi coloured coating in the quartz) 100/90w. H4..... so got it replaced and Walaaaaaah! ek dum dhansu Zhakaas Roshini ....
                          no drastic load on the circuit seen and also no Battery drain observed. just a bit worried, the kind of HEAT a 100/90w wud generally generate, I fear I may Spoil the reflector...., but otherwise, the light brings a shame to others.....
                          waiting for some more time for the tube to show its true colors in the form of battery drain or Reflector corrode!
                          Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

                            the Bike just seem to go on and on...returned me an average of 42kmpl while doing 100-120 most of the time, also included a very rough 40km patch from Pinjore to baddi, dnt knw the reason, but am in love with my ZMA all over again. and yes, the highlight of the trip was getting a Ticket from Panchkula Traffic Police for riding above speed limit( I was on 95 when beamed with the speed detector)


                            My Mistake..... wont happen again.
                            Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

                            Save the Tigers! Only 1411 (excluding ME) are left!

                              Something really strange wid your bike...

                              Coz in my recent trip i was continously on 80 - 90 on my ZiMA....i got an average of 38Kmpl...

                                I cannot believe that you got 42 kmpl when you did 100-120 all the time. There must be something wrong the way you have calculated the fuel efficiency.
