Used to got to Millenium motors Koramangala. They were pretty good earlier and i had no complaints. but then bike just stopped dead after 950km after 4th service and the HH guys said that it was a tappet adjustment problem. Now I donot mind the bike having a breakdown due to part breakage but i draw the line at breakdons due to adjustment. Prakash motors was worse. the guy there didnt even note down half the problems in the job sheet till i insisted and still half the problems werent solved.
Anyone know how to get rid of the air lock in the petrol tank which stalls the bike. and then gets solved by opening the fuel tank cap?

Kwack-: For the air lock, nothing can be done about it, unless you fit a tube out of the tank from the top. I too find this issue in my ZMA once in a while, and it isnt a pain to open the fuel lid once in a while.
If u find a good mechanic, please post it in the forum as I too found issues in servicing from Millenium Motors. I was in chennai and had a very good service exp there.Ride Safe. Respect others on the road.

Now thats something new I am hearing. Have always experienced this at traffic signals when I switch off my bike. It won't start till I open the fuel lid and put it back.Originally posted by kwack View PostOccasionally opening the fuel cap is ok. but imagine you are trying to overtake a car on a busy road and are at around 70 and you bike just conks off!! I had that experience a few times...

Here's what worked on my P200:Put the fuel knob to off when you are keeping the bike for a period of time. Keep it in shade.Open the fuel cap before you set off for 10 sec. Start the bike and let it settle down.Originally posted by kwack View PostOccasionally opening the fuel cap is ok. but imagine you are trying to overtake a car on a busy road and are at around 70 and you bike just conks off!! And finally the most crucial of it all,don't let the bike be in reserve.

went on a trip to horsley hills and
got some shocking news
Fuel effiency of my zma
Total Fuel filled 1000 + 20 rs of fuelin the tank
Total Kms travelled before hitting reserve = 751.4
How many liters is the reserve of a zma?
Am I getting 40+ fuel effiency or am I dreaming
P.S bike was kept below 100km/hr for most of the ride.
Average speed was 80 to 90 km/hr.
Help me calculate the Fuel effiency???

I think it is 55.07 in chennai and abt 58.50 in andra whereI filled 400 rs of fuelOriginally posted by inder.cool View PostReserve is 2ltrs.

Fuel used is Normal feul
Kms done on the bike 8500
Last time on my munnar trip I got 33 but I was keeping the needle at 100 km/hr for most of the time ...
I checked my spark plug recently and found some problem and had it corrected off late.
Could it be the reason for high effiency
I used to get about 41 before checking the spark plug ...havent checked after the trip in the cityLast edited by steveburnside2001; 12-06-2008, 07:04 PM.

Ok, as per the fuel prices given:
Total litres of fuel filled in Chennai -> 1020 - 400 = 620 / 55.07 => 11.25 Litres
Total litres of fuel filled in Andhra -> 400 / 58.50 => 6.83 Litres
So, total fuel used is => 11.25 + 6.83 => 18.08 Litres
Total kms travelled => 751.4
So, Fuel effeciency => 751.4 / 18.08 => 41.55

But the bike was not empty when I had 751 It had 2 liters of fuel...Originally posted by inder.cool View PostOk, as per the fuel prices given:

Dont you thin we should remove the 2 liters and calculate the mileage

Ok,was your bike dry before you fuelled in..?? If not then that calculation seems to be right....if yes then we need to remove 2 litres from the total stock of fuel(18.08) and come to 18.08 - 2 => 16.08 litres...Originally posted by steveburnside2001 View PostBut the bike was not empty when I had 751 It had 2 liters of fuel...

I did almost faint after reading the FE figures.Originally posted by inder.cool View PostOhh ok....then you cud calculate the mileage based on 16.08 litres of fuel..which arrives at 46.70 ..
Very mileage figure there....!!!

Even a 150cc is not giving that much mileage at high speeds these days.
The max mileage I got when I rode around 80-90 most of the time, was 43 kmpl.
Steve, what is the spark plug make? Is it NGK or champion??HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler
