To avoid skidding in Sirac street set a little more free play in rear brake pedal and keep PSI at 33, that is what I did and I never skided on this tyre.
Since you say you've toured over 30K kms, please confirm whether this is the original Sirac (imported), or the Sirac Street made by TVS. Stocks of the Sirac started dwindling during/after 2011.

I did the same, reduced the pressure to 32 and the fish tail reduced. However i lost the confidence I had due to the experience and I dont take risk in wet conditions since then.. though i did go to Chandigarh from Delhi and back in 8 hrs.. and it was raining heavily.. itrusted the front sirac street whole heartedly but just not the rear tires.. like i said, due to bad experience with it. I lost the confidence..

Sirac Street for the past One Year is being made by TVS with Hard Compound, and it skids easily...so use with caution....

No idea....M45 was stopped because of ISI certification...I don't think it will be back.....MRF zapper C, Q, and Moto D are supposed to offer better wet traction and braking...Dunlop Monster is also a good Tire with pattern more like M45

MRF site doesnt show Moto D to be available in 18".
How are Ceat Gripp and MRF Meteor? These have more or less same pattern like sirac street/m45.
I am not able to find any good detailed ownership reviews of these.

Moto d is a narrow built tyre more suitable for bikes like rx, and it doesn't have wide rounded edges which is needed for cornering, that's why I bought the mrf meteor, its pretty good haven't skidded so far been 4k km since I bought it.

I never experienced this in my sirac street. For first 2000Kms I was also skidding on wet roads but only under hard braking but afterwards I had a talk with Area Manager of michelin he advised me to set more free play in brakes and set PSI to 33 and this advice worked and never skided again.

Or you can always exchange it with the tyre dealer and yours is not even used.
Thanks. And I have decided not to sell the tyre and shall use it and see how it performs myself. I checked with the dealer looking for an exchange, and that will not work as its been more than 8 months since I had purchased.

And I could find a date printed on the tyre as "MAR2012", and nothing else which differentiates the manufacturer. Would that help in identifying if the tyre was originally manufactured by Michelin.?!?

As informed in earlier recent posts sirac street is being manf by TVS since past one year, so in all probability yours should also be the same one. AFAIK there is no way to differentiate by looking/markings.

It rained today, so took the ZMA out for a spin on the highway for about 60 kms. I wanted to check how these Ceats behave in wet weather.

Stability : Very stable in the rain even at high speeds. They maintain a straight line.
Grip : Very good in a straight line, taken through some 'standing' water, but no aquaplaning. I attribute that to the wider grooves on the front and back.
I had a moment on an overbridge within the city where I kept losing the rear grip, however this has been very recently built and its surface is very slippery, I also presumed that I was trying to lean too much with my 'chicken strips' on this at a higher-than-necessary speed (about 30-40 on a turn). I didn't lose too much traction, but lesson learnt. These are no Metzelers.
The grip through gravel and slush is superb, I was able to do 60ish without the bike complaining. With the MRF, even 20 was scary. Please take a look at the pictures below to see what sort of slush I'm talking about.
Braking : Hard braking from 80 brought me to a skidding halt without losing the line. I don't recommend it in the wet, I think ABS is a good thing to have under wet conditions . 'Normal' Braking, where you control the brakes is superb, and there is no loss of traction and no skidding. These tyres are very good for a medium compound. I had a moment where an old lady decided to cross the highway, probably jaywalking in the rain. I was able to confidently brake in this situation and bring the bike down to 30ish in the wet without losing traction.

@ravi@17bhp What do I think? Having heard those stories about the Street, I was very tempted, like you, to buy the street and find out for myself what the Sirac Streets were like. However, I decided to give in to better judgement, since there are more negatives rather than positives in this case.

Pardon the phone-cam images at a low resolution.
Slush and standing water on the road where I went through

Wax on the tank nicely beading the rain - (Wax on the helmet visor helps beading too! You just need to flick a finger over the visor to get 'clear view' every time).

A few images of the tyres after my run. Unfortunately there are no Ghats nearby for me to lose these chicken strips on . Anyway, I don't want to do a Rossi, my main purpose was to have tyres with better grip than the MRF and it's been solved for me.
