Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Zma's suspension is designed for comfort. But since I am planning to change fork oil thought of filling with a thicker oil and filling in little extra oil and make it bit more stiffer. Awaiting expert opinion on this.Originally posted by Vishakh View PostThe ZMA's USP as a tourer comes from the softer suspension (handling potholes with ease).Cheetahs are faster but the lion is still the KING

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
You may choose to use a heavier oil or fill a bit more but better not do both at once . The front forks are hydraulic devices and it's action depends on the ratio of air to oil in it . So by increasing the oil you also decrease the air and that tends to have a larger effect than you plan for say by adding just 5ml more . IMHO just use a known weight of oil that's on the heavier side , like the motul expert 20W fork oil . That should give you just enough stifness .

Re: Michelin Sirac Street review
Thanks a lot for your reviews on Michelin Sirac Street. I have bought this tyre (Rear 100/90 x 18) some eight months back and did not yet fit as i had an idea to sell. I couldn't buy M45 that time as it was unavailable. Since there were sevaral bad feedbacks about Michelin SS, finally decided to sell. Haven't sold, and still having it unused. Not sure if the tyre was manufactured locally, it has Michelin symbol all over. I now have no other option than fitting it. I live in Chennai and it barely rains. More frequently i ride solo, what should be the tyre pressure to keep good hold.?Originally posted by imjoshee View PostHey mates,
Hope everyone is running fine.
Here is my review on the Sirac Street.
Initial view : SS will be good buy since M45 was not available and SS is now manufactured locally so was a bit skeptical on the purchase and there were other options also available from other manufacturers but had that inclination towards Michelin since I had already used Michelin on my earlier rides. Got the tyre just before the rains & the odo showed 23kms then.
Review after 5k with the change in tyre : I knew the tyre would have to be run in to get exact grip that I was looking for, so rode it cool & calm for almost 1k kms, but still it lacked the grip. I was then running on 32psi at the rear & 28psi front because sometimes I ride solo & sometimes with pillion. The tyre was good when it was dry, but when the roads turned wet, it use to fish tail like crazy, couple of times i had to stop at the side of the road to check if everything is fine. Couple of times this happened & I was all frustrated with this tyre. At the next tank fill, got the pressure reduced to 30psi rear & 26psi front. This is when I got some positive response from the tyre, but still lacked the grip. Since then, i have been riding with this tyre pressure. I am not a cornering guy, but still tried it & the response was good, this was when the roads were dry. I would never think of doing it in rains or wet patches. The tyre is good in dry conditions, but under wet conditions its a little difficult to handle it. On the cement roads, again its the same story(dry - no worries, wet - be careful). If you are running on tar roads, its ok on both dry & wet roads.
Overall report : Its kinda Ok Ok tyre, nothing to boast about. I would look for other options before I use this tyre again.
Another update : The disk pads are nearing its life & so got a new set of pads. The OE pads cost Rs.1115/- incl tax

Re: Oil drain nut replacement
Help Please!Originally posted by g K View PostGuys,
I am in a fix. Though the problem is pretty small, it needs attention.
The neutral light on console of my ZMA is not working. The reason is- The small metal part (patti) that is located inside the chain cover has gone missing.
Its been over a month and I have not been able to get it. Can anyone help me source it in Delhi ?
Alternatively, can anyone post a good pic of it so that I can try to fabricate it maybe ?You can ride a Motorcycle any day of the month. ;)

Re: Michelin Sirac Street review
The second cable is a return cable. its just a push cable incase your stuck at WOT. One advantage to having two cables is that if your pull cable breaks you can rig up the return cable to act in it's place.. It allows for faster shifting and more control. I guess dual cables are more reliable. With a single cable your wrist is fighting against the spring return pressure. With dual cables the return springs are lighter requiring less effort...Originally posted by Above_All View PostHi All , is there any problem running with single accelerator wire ?
Its a Karizma R converted to ZMR now from 3/4 months added p135 switches , so with single acelerator wire .
Will there be any problem in long runs ?

Re: Michelin Sirac Street review
Absolutely none...people have toured on the single "A" cable(pull) in Karizma....it is the "B" push cable that will go bad most of the times, getting rust, due to it's routing and placement inside throttle grip....so don't worry, just keep a spare "A" cable for long journeys, just like we do for any other bike...the reason for both "A" and "B" cable is to balance out cable slack to a minimum, which does not change with time....Originally posted by Above_All View PostHi All , is there any problem running with single accelerator wire ?

In fact one of the reason for ZMA throttle getting stuck is the "B" cable going bad due to internal rusting....if the return "B" cable does not move smoothly, the throttle valve and grip cannot return to idle condition....if you remove the "B" cable and re-adjust the throttle cable slack, you will find the throttle to be very smooth and easy to operate...there is every chance of you opening the throttle suddenly, due to lack of back resistance from the "B" cable....Originally posted by Night_Shade View PostThe second cable is a return cable. its just a push cable incase your stuck at WOT.
