Re: Oil drain nut replacement
Have information from Ceat that there are a bunch of new options in TT and TL for various vehicles - their catalog/site isn't updated yet though. I've been searching for the Zoom F and R tyres for a while now, but apparently they weren't in stock here.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View Post

You posted this 1 week too late.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostAlternative TL tire options for ZMR/ZMA (apart from regular stock tires of ZMR), from MRF available now. Front Zapper FQ 80/100 18 TL and rear Zapper Vyde 100/90 18 TL. Guess they are not in the market now. They would come soon into the market. If somebody wants them you can shoot a mail to MRF to arrange for the same in your city.

Re: Oil drain nut replacement
Just got to know. I tried for the Zapper FQ 80/100 TL in Hyderabad and couldn't find anywhere. I put a query on MRF website and I got a call today. They said they would arrange me one tire tomorrow. Then, I asked about any new TL option other than regular Zapper Y. Then he searched and told me a new tire has come in Vyde; he said its not yet in market and that he would arrange me soon if I wanted one.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostYou posted this 1 week too late.
@AK3D, Zoom is available here but its TT only. No tubeless option. Its good if we get some Tubeless tires from Ceat too.

Hmm, so that means I'll have to wait another 15-20k kms before Zapper Q wears out. Zapper FQ is a TL? The one you ordered?Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostJust got to know. Re: Oil drain nut replacement
Yes, tomorrow evening or day after tomorrow I will be getting it. Its not a soft compound and performance tire, but I feel it could be better than stock Zapper FS.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostHmm, so that means I'll have to wait another 15-20k kms before Zapper Q wears out. Re: Oil drain nut replacement
Completed 500Kms till date..will go for first service day after tomorrow.
There is lot of vibrations ( khad khad sound) from engine for first 10kms ride from cold start ( I warm up engine for 2-3 min) but after 10kms ride vibration reduces but continues in mild way during accelerating. Is it Ok or something need to be address?

Re: Oil drain nut replacement
Let the first service be done and see if you still have vibes. First oil change will make lot of difference because the dirt from rubbing of new engine parts will be drained out in oil. Vibes slowly go down as the engine parts mate well.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostCompleted 500Kms till date..will go for first service day after tomorrow.

And what RPM you are changing the gears. Hope you are not lugging the engine as Divya said. Shift gears around 3500 rpm minimum.HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler

I feel vibes mostly when about to shift to next gear.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostHope you're not lugging the engine. Where do you feel the vibes?
Just had a ride of 30Kms in heavy traffic and when engine become hot vibes reduced significantly.I change gears at 3500rpm.If I ride after one hr of parking then again vibration creeps upto few Kms.Hope its just because of new engine.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostLet the first service be done and see if you still have vibes. 3.5k rpm is a bit early, shift at 4 or 4.5.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostI feel vibes mostly when about to shift to next gear.

Re: Oil drain nut replacement
Gear shifting around 3500 rpm is for optimal acceleration. If you want to give good acceleration, you need to shift around 4k-5k. If you shift gears at 3500 rpm and twist throttle for a burst of acceleration, then engine lugs a bit.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostJust had a ride of 30Kms in heavy traffic and when engine become hot vibes reduced significantly.I change gears at 3500rpm.If I ride after one hr of parking then again vibration creeps upto few Kms.Hope its just because of new engine.
Thanks for the info. Will check them at Ceat tomorrow.Originally posted by AK3D View PostZoom R (100/90 18) is TL, while the Zoom F (there are 2 varieties available) is a tube type.
3.5k is fine if you are accelerating optimally; I even shift at 3k some times. When I need quick acceleration, I would shift around 4 to 5k rpm.Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View Post3.5k rpm is a bit early, shift at 4 or 4.5.

Re: Oil drain nut replacement
True, sudden twist of throttle at 3.5 lugs the engine, that's y I shift at 4 in city and 5 on highway.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostGear shifting around 3500 rpm is for optimal acceleration. Re: Oil drain nut replacement
Washed my bike yesterday. Must tell you all; HMC needs to improve the plastics.....its been not even a year after I bought the bike and I feel the plastics have begun to fade especially around the dash area. Is this a problem only with post 2011 zma's or is it a part of the all karizmas? Also I'm getting around 40 when ridden in mixed conditions. This has happened two times before. I have my doubts. I filled 2.51 liters last week and I rode to college and back home(with pillion on return) which was mostly highways. That accounts to a 70km journey. After this I rode mainly in the city. And as of now the trip meter shows 100.8 and the bike has not hit reserve yet. Could my odo/speedo cable be faulty? Or is my bike returning really good FE? Or is my math bad!!

Nope. Park your bike in shade, not directly under the sun. There "may" be some minor fading after prolonged use, but I feel 1 year is too less. At least, my bike hasn't shown such signs so far!
