I had faced the same problem with my ZMA, but the only change is, in my case when i try to accelerate she feels suffocated & dies. After that if i try to start her she starts without any problem, but once when i try to accelerate she again dies. Only option i got after that is to pull in the choke & ride for few meters.

After changing the Carb diaphram recently, the problem disappeared...
Costed 852 bucks but got with warranty....

heard some good reviews of the geocruiser (though not exactly for the ZMA). So wanted to know about the wet grip and about the availability of the front tire.

I suggest you give them again and say just do what I say types and with 30k Kms on odo if I remember right you needed then sorted

Had you ever changed accelator cables and chain sprocket set?
          How does bike feel now?
Sorry, was away and catching up just now. I should've insisted on changing them. I've had the accelerator cables changed once, but not the chain sprocket set. I was off to a 300+ km trip last weekend to the ghats in full monsoon and it was awesome. I had my wifey pillion riding and the way ZMA performed in the ghats is awesome. The clutch is more smooth now.
All along I was riding in continuous rain and muddy waters. Even the Sirac street was impressive with its wet grip. I had a chance to test it when I had to take a short cut on a muddy road.

I've just returned from the HH SVC just now. All along the trip I've noticed that the front brake let out a screeching sound. Initially I thought it must've been due to the new disk pad set and the monsoon mud. But today I was worried and went to the HH SVC and showed it to them. Initially the supervisor said it's due to the monsoon. I questioned asking "these are new pads and during the monsoon the old ones also did not make any sound. Did you actually replace them?"

He took the bike inside, came back and said he had them cleaned. I returned home and did a trial run without the helment. I can still hear the screeching sound. If I apply the brake on an incline I can hear the light sound. The sound is like "if you pour surf water on a plastic urface and run your finger on it", you'll hear a sound. It's like that :P

Is it due to the monsoon or didn't they change the disk pads? I can see the changed disk pads number also in the bill I tried checking to see if I can see the wear indicator as mentioned in the manual, but confused. Please advise. Here are the pics.

Thank you. Oh, I've got to remove the front wheel for that. For now the only disadvantage is that I'm not able to see the speed and the advantage being that the KMs are not increasing :P

the disc pads to squeek and make noise, dont worry. if it gets more than remove, use sandpaper on them and put it back

i hope u felt the difference due to the change of acceletor cables

Wet grip is simply awesome. Much much better than stock. This baby was kind of a legend in the classic CBZ times and came as stock too. You can use these ones for front:

Dunlop FTW guys, they came stock with the Kiney and lasted 10yrs. Currently using Dunlop at rear and Michelin at front, Dunlop kicks ass and is better than Michelin in terms of performance and pricing, the downside being, it wears off way sooner than you expect.

My ZMA R had some electrical misbehaviour that is 2nd time my all power supply shut down happened

                    1st time is battery fuse
but this time i dont know the reason i checked up with the mechanic he said he has to check electrical connections

One more problem im facing there is odd sounds around 3000rpm

i think its timing chain problem i guess so

i found the zma timing chain costs more and i read that unicorn's tensioner directly fit for zma without mod

suggest me the solution so that i can go ahead

and one more query i.e i changed my disc pad at 28000km and now my bike is on 43k and i hear some sound from the disc is it the time to change my disc pad again?

                    suggest me fellow rocketeers

Status Report: I've been riding it around empty roads near the Beach, and I cannot adequately stress how smooth and fun the ride is. Got Meguiar's NXT Car Wash to prep the paint and applied Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax, hoping that'll keep dust, grime, bird dirt and such away. I have my doubts about how well I have applied the wax. I'm relying on the the improved water beading to indicate the presence of wax.

Have had issues of cold starts (Unicorn-esque), what do you recommend for idling when the engine is warm? A little strange thing today after the wash was a strange struggling for power. Once it warmed up, normalcy returned.

No wax will keep the grime etc away, it helps protect the paint to a minor extent. The quik wax is not too durable compared to something like a collinite paste wax, but something is better than nothing!

Try using the choke while starting. Idle RPM should be about 1300 when the bike is warmed up. Your bike shouldn't 'struggle' too much. If so, it might be running a bit lean.

AFR is a worry because I'd much rather leave it alone, since it's supposed to be delicate. Let's see whether symptoms persist.
I'll get some quality paste wax soon.

                            Thanks man.

Today, replaced the disc pads, as well as disc oil with DOT4. The old oil was of unknown quality and might be mix of dot4 and dot3 oil. The drained old oil from the pneumatic tube is dark and muddy (a little) . And there is some wax kind of formation in the reservoir which was cleaned thoroughly. With fresh DOT4 oil (castrol) the brake lever feeling is very good and the braking is progressive, though spongy due to new disc pads (from RTR, takes time to bite).

Followed this method to drain the old oil: Oil from the reservoir was suctioned out completely with syringe. Oil from the walls was suctioned out using fine tissue paper. Fresh oil poured in to reservoir. A fuel tube was inserted to the drain bolt near the pads and the oil was drained out to a basin with brake lever action. Continued the draining process till the fresh oil drained into the basin. Draining allowed so that at least 30-50 ml of new oil was out. Ensured proper brake lever position and tightened the drain bolt.

M45 has very good grip. The rear M45 I am currently using doesn't make that much noise. So, I am confused if the front M45 is making the noise.

Regarding performance of R4, I can't exactly comment its working wonders, as the bore is new and I am finding some vibrations after 5k rpm. I might spot the difference if I use a normal oil. May be I used AX7 next time and see if there is any difference.

I see your brake pads are new with original thickness intact. To check brake pad thickness, no need to open the wheel. Just straighten the handle bar and peep between the wheel and disc plate under good light, or you can use a torch. You can see the thickness of the pads.

Use choke when the engine is cold. Warm up the bike a little before pushing it.
