Nope! Many friends of mine are using ZMR's stock front tire in their ZMAs! Without any mods of course.Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View Post3.00 might have problems with the front mudguard right?

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Hi all, completed 1700 Kms today. Changed engine oil at 500kms then at 1500 kms.Feeling little vibrations on foot pegs and handle bar at 70-80 km/hr but after that no vibes till 100km/hr.
Once throttled upto 120 Km/hr, bike was damn stable.Am i riding too fast this new bike, should I hold speed below 80 till 2nd service?
Planning a solo ride of 1000Kms from Lucknow to Muteshwar and return 200 in hills and 800Kms on plains..Is it advisable to ride my 1700kms old ZMA for at least 1-2 hr continous on highway, though now morning and evening climate is little cold here.
I am planning to put honda tuff up tube of Unicorn in my ZMA as tyre size is same, never had a puncture in entire life of my Uni, also want to remove engine guard and put leg guard. Please suggest me whether leg guard in ZMA really protect fairing during a minor fall?

No, it's not a big difference.Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View Post3.00 might have problems with the front mudguard right?
If the vibrations are minor, it can be tyre/road related.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostHi all, completed 1700 Kms today. Changed engine oil at 500kms then at 1500 kms.Feeling little vibrations on foot pegs and handle bar at 70-80 km/hr but after that no vibes till 100km/hr.

You can ride it as fast as you want now, provided you're in control. Better to have a safe cruising speed so you can take avoiding action in case a moron pops out in front of you.
You can ride it all day without a problem. However, it's advisable to take a break every hour or couple of hours to take a breather. Everyone has different endurance capabilities on the highway, till you realize yours, best to take breaks.
Even Honda Tuff up can face punctures. The leg guard will definitely help the fairing in case of the bike falling.

For tyres initially I wanted to put tubeless tyres but If the alloys get minir bent then it will be a disaster during tour thatswhy I will put tuff up tube to avoid sudden punctures during tours.
For leg guard please suggest me which one is direct fit to ZMA after removing engine cowl.
Do I need to carry spare clutch cable/lever, accelerator cable, gear shift lever in first tour?

Those vibrations will always be there, you'll get used to them.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostVibrations are minor...little bit under seat, handle bar and foot pegs.

The ZMA alloys are among the toughest of most Indian bikes, people have gone over huge potholes or bumps, and there are only a few cases of bent alloys.

If you want to, for your peace of mind, else it should be fine. Why the gear shift lever though?

Service manual for Karizma
Hello guys, If anyone of you have Karizma workshop manual could you guys please share it? Also I urgently require the tappet clearance(inlet and exhaust) for Karizma. The rear drum of my Karizma is worn out, is there any trick you guys know of or think of other than the obvious thing of changing the wheel.Thank you.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
I have chosen the same tyres for the front mate... even thou rear is mentioned on it...Originally posted by ashwinprakas View Post
A word of caution, when choosing new rubbers, always go for front tires with groves. For the sake of upsizing both front and rear, I went for Sirac Street 3.00 Rear Tire at front, and just a few days ago discovered that I cant panic brake when it rains, cause if I do so, the bike spins out.

I went for the one on the left instead of going for the one on the right, since it wasnt available in 3.00 size.
Ride safe.Last edited by Night_Shade; 11-08-2013, 12:52 AM.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
You should've gone with a regular front tyre, there's a reason why front tyres have a different groove pattern than rear.Originally posted by Night_Shade View PostI have chosen the same tyres for the front mate... even thou rear is mentioned on it...

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Been using them from last 2 weeks mate.. initially felt they were bit heavy and zip zapping thru the traffic was little difficult.. but i can now move zip zap with ease.. and also I upgraded to 120-18 zapper Q for rear... awesome tyre and superior grip..am just loving the combination now..Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostYou should've gone with a regular front tyre, there's a reason why front tyres have a different groove pattern than rear.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
When using the sirac rear at front, the drag increases alot and so does the dry grip. But when it rains, its super risky, i mean just press the front brake and bike starts to go sideways.
