A silly question : I went online to renew my bike's insurance and am not sure which variant to select Karizma standard or karizma red cast? Mine is a Karizma R purchased in 2008. don't ask me what i've selected the last time

What is Karizma standard and Red cast? Please go by brand like Iffco Tokio etc, Top 5 Motor Insurance Companies in India (NIA and Oriental are also very good) read some reviews online about the companies providing the least hassle in cases of accident or theft and go with them.
Approach some agent who might help you with transferring the insurance in case you want to.
Also make sure you renew a FULL policy, not a third party one. It would also help to know if your fiber parts are covered by insurance (many do not, some offer 50% coverage), I'm not sure about the ones that offer 100%, but be wary about those, there might be loopholes.

Depends what Honda had changed to alter ignition timings. Primarily it would be the cdi but could also include changes in the pickup-coil and or magneto assembly as its an active and critical part of the ignition process too and works in tandem with the cdi

Edit: the cam tensioner issue lied with the tensioner itself and not with the zma engine

The CDI in older ie., pre 2005 model had a more aggressive timing map...From 1,500 RPM to 4,000 RPM approximately, the CDI ignition timing was more advanced, than the present CDI timings...the Ignition trigger coil,Ignition coil, etc., all are the same from 2003 till now....the CDIs are interchangeable between each other without any bad effects....

          Thanks for the information.
Anyway only difference between so called asfs engine and our engine is the surface of piston and vulve...right? I read it somewhere.
If there is any other difference please enlighten me.

Obviously they would continue providing spare parts, they won't just leave thousands of karizma owners in the dark.

I guess that's the case with every bike, especially fiber parts are difficult to get immediately.

That's a normal FE for zma, not sure if they have different carbs, new carb should cost around 6k.
