I have noticed oil deposition on the engine outer surface where the bend pipe enters the engine.. Though it is very less in quantity, is it normal? If yes, why?Motorsports - Because in football, basketball, golf and cricket, you only need one ball! ;)

No need to do that. The initial heating is absolutely normal.Originally posted by pitbull View Post(need to remove the cowl soon)
One of the reasons why it is getting so hot. Better tune it to 1200/1300 (when hot) 1000/1100 (when clod) with some experienced mechanic.Originally posted by pitbull View Post- the default setting of rpm is 1500 (cold) and when warmed up is 1900 (hot)A professional candid photographer - 17000+ followers. The weights are important... if you want everything to work as it should. If you want to follow the typical Indian "chalta hai" mentality, you can give it a pass. You may not precieve the difference depending on your sensitivity... but if the wheel is imbalanced, it will make a difference.Originally posted by abhishek.murdeshwar View Post2. The Balancer Weights on the Front mag wheel has come out after my recent Kodachadri ride...! when i asked the HH service guys they said that those weight are not that important and i wouldnt have any problems because of that... But i wonder...since those weights are balancer weight wont there be any problem..like wobbling at high speeds...? I even went to a local Wheel Alignment and balancing shop..but he said that he doesnt have equipments has such to do the balancing..! I requested him to put back those balancer weights back to the Mags where it was...
I would like to know..how many of u have faced the similar problem and does it really makes any difference without the weights..?
You have to follow the method in the manual as the dipstick graduation will have been done according to that.Originally posted by abhishek.murdeshwar View Post3. What is the exact way to check the Engine oil level..? According to the Manual book it says the bike must be started and kept idling for about 3- 5 mins and then check the engine oil level...but as far i know the engine oil must be checked when the engine is cold...!! now which method is correct..?
It is difficult to make an accurate assesment about small variation in level using this method due to various reasons. The best way is to measure the oil when you drain it. Make sure you do this in identical conditions each time... like at similar engine tempratures, etc. This will give a much more accurate idea.Originally posted by abhishek.murdeshwar View Post4 . I have noticed the engine oil level on my bike was little less ( the level was between the Low and Full mark) i had changed the oil 1000 kms back..so how could it be less..? is my bike drinking engine oil..? Has i said the bike has done only 2700 kms...how is it possible that the bike is drinking engine when it so new..? is there any problem with the bike..?

Engine heat felt on the sides of the tank - 1200 kms on and traffic snarls make my Zma act as a grill
Notchy shifts - First service : Oil change at 200 kms and Clutch freeplay adjustment + Oil change during first service = Smooth shifts
Higher idle RPM - My bike was running the same 1.5k (cold). Was told not to adjust the RPM till the first service. I duly obeyed and bore the shakes till 800km
Important things to note :
-Get the oil changed once at the 150-200km mark and then during the first service once again.
-Keep varying the engine speeds and hence do not cruise with the revs stagnant.

It is a leak.Originally posted by suhasn46 View PostI have noticed oil deposition on the engine outer surface where the bend pipe enters the engine.. Though it is very less in quantity, is it normal? If yes, why?
Have the service center tighten the nuts that attach the exhaust pipe to the bore. If that doesn't work, have them change the exhaust gasket.

Rattling sound from engine? Most probably it may be because of busted cam tensioner.Originally posted by jetblack View Posthey can anyone suggest me a good mechanic in and around bandra or andheri....need to get rid of the rattling sound from the engine....i think i need to open up the engine...coz it goes when i get it serviced and comes back after a week or so...suggest a place or guy whose good in zma.

Silencer (dis)coloration
Hi friends,
I took delivery of a zma on monday-night. So far covered abt 25km only. Today, during the day time, I noticed the exhaust (golden portion) has several brownish patches as though it has corroded. Close inspection of the exhaust shows it to be an eyesore...wondering if this is 'normal' or should I give a call to the HH-folks?
~ thx in advance

Congrats for new Zma-R. Go straight away to HHSS and report that. Check silencer of other bikes for confirmation.Originally posted by pitbull View PostHi friends,
