  • Stock sized number plates wont touch the front guard,It will touch only if its a very hard hit.Anything little big above the stock size will hit the fender almost every time.

    @ imjoshee

Does anyone here face the problem of front number plate fouling with the mudguard when taken over a pothole. I am facing that issue & because of this, there is a big scar on the front mudguard. Any solution?

Yes the no plate touches the mudguard when you ride on rough roads and on big speed breakers,my bikes mudguard is very badly scared and also developed a crack near the bolt.Solution is to remove the no plate and get the no sticker-ed on the visor.

Front number plate hitting the mud guard is a standard feature of ZMA/ZMR..I had oil leak in one of the fork legs and while changing the seal and oil I asked the mech to go for slightly thicker oil in the forks, which he did.so now my fork doesn't dive like before....Downside is the ride is a bit hard and bouncy compared to stock, but not bad ..
If you don't want to change to thicker fork oil, and prefer a softer ride to the hard one,buy 6 inches of cycle valve tube, carefully split it horizontally in the center, apply rubber based adhesive like Fevibond and stick it to the bottom of the Number Plate...length may be chosen on personal preference....this will prevent scoring on the mud guard.

Even I have developed a crack at the bolts. I checked with the head mechanic at the SVC head & he said, in the next service he will increase the fork oil level to 175ml from the stock 165ml. He says it will make the suspension little hard, which I am fine with.

Here in Mumbai, you are allowed to put the sticker on the visor, but it should be legible & nothing fancy.

I dont want to remove the number plate, somehow it looks good right now. So I might the solution given by the mechie or as PSR said I will put in the rubber strip.

          LOL.. Sorry couldn't control myself!!!

The rubber pieces will prevent scoring on the mud guard but it will not stop the mudguard from cracking at the mounts. Although the sticker doesn't look good, its a quite good solution. Unfortunately in my case, even with the number plate taken out, the bottom portion of the headlamp used to hit the mudguard!

in my bike (zma 2011) its written on the front of the rectangle box which contains the brake fluid whereas in aswin's its just the 'N' emblem embossed on the location as you said

I guess on the ZMA the TPFC is a switch rather than a cable that needs/may to be disconnected. You may disconnect the switch as done above with the cable.
