    • Getting horrible ticking noise from engine from two days,it increases when engine is hot I think tappets need adjustment.
Can anyone confirm the clearance is it 0.10 mm?
How much dose Zma and Zmr chain tensioner / lifter assembly costs?

The noise started after 150 km ride in the hills as it involved lot of hard acceleration and riding at high rpm on low gears.

Zma R costs 82k here in Chattisgarh.

@ Aneesh- sad to here about the crash man, glad that your alright. whats happening with that Logan guy?? any compensation from his side??

@psr- sir as i said, went for a short ride, feels better but i can also feel the lack of high end torque, still i managed to hit [email protected] or something in 5th. By then it was pouring heavily so couldn't go on with a second run. i guess the 115 main is spoiling the top end fun??
will have to try ma luck with the next size main!

          2. Check Service record,by asking for the owners's manual and seeing the use of service coupons as recommended ,and owner's Name and Address.
          3. Check the RC and Insurance papers, both should be current and in the same owner's name and address, esp to see if the seller and the photo in RC are same.If seller is selling on behalf of someone else, unless you see and confirm, do not go for purchase as it may be a stolen bike.
          4. Check for change of panels, look for wide gaps between panels joining areas, and also slight difference in color between panels.
          5. Put the bike in center stand and rotate both front and rear wheel and check...there should be no sideways movement of both the wheel Rim and tire..Wheel costs 6 k each and tires 2 k each approximately.
          6. Check Battery is 7 AH , and self start works properly.
          7. The tool kit under seat along with first aid kit should be available.
          8. Start and let engine idle for 2 minutes, and look for abnormal sounds from engine like loud clicking or grinding noise.. take the bike for a run and see if it pulls to any side or wobbles If it does walk away from it.
          9. Apply front disk lightly while doing 40 Kmph and see if you have a pulsating feeling in the front brake lever..if it is there then your disc needs replacement.
          10. Try to take the bike to 100 Kmph and see the stability, sound from engine and braking efficiency.......if not possible drive around at lower gears at higher RPMs....upto 6 or 7 k RPM.
          11. After coming back from ride with hot engine again look for any abnormal engine sounds...

These are preliminary checks...Most Important of all the Bike papers should be Genuine and current, Nill accident record, and no abnormal sounds from engine.
          thanks a lot sir.....

.....................................The dealer has quoted about 92K OTR for the Bike + 3K for optional accessories (like remote lock, helmet etc).
Opting for the remote lock is up to you ( if they're willing to give normal warranty for the bike ). My pre-owned ZMA R came with ROOTS remote lock . Gives me peace of mind at night , but also makes me run to get the remote in the middle of the night if there is heavy rain/wind . . Get the helmet as per your liking and if the ones they have isn't to your liking get it from someplace else - after all it's your money .

Nice to see you back after a brief pause . Just wondering , on which road did you manage that speed ? The National Highways nowadays look like Anti-National Highways and the other roads are just as pathetic . BTW we here had a low level debate on the H/L you have . Would you mind clarifying ?

I bought my ZMA R ( > 12 months , @9500 kms ) for 65000/- . The bike was not abused - some slight rattling was all there was . Also I got a Roots remote lock along with it . Nowadays rates must be lower - other bikes have come into the market and that must make an impact on the 2nd hand market too .

After some days of procrastination I finally swapped my 7Ah battery for the 9Ah one from my Pulsar 180 .

yup true that but the stretch connecting Chovva to nadal is still intact, thanks for the bi-pass because of which this road is kinda free all the time. i started from Thottada around 2am and while hitting that speed i was somewhere near to the JTS ( junior technical school)

cool i just saw the debates and i agree with you all, But for every ones information, am using the same HL since 9 months. plonked hids before 3 months and now the FACT IS THAT THIS SETUP WORK LIKE CHARM, at least for me!! To reduce the power conception, am using leds in my tail lamp and all 4 indicators. removed ma rear license plate lamp. with this ive low rated angel eyes and demon eyes. not finished yet, i've a cell phone charging unit, a roots gladiator security system,a real time volt meter , a pair of roots wind tone and another pair of roots Elephant tone horn. Yup all in one bike and i still say all these works pretty well! ALL SAID AND DONE.

Disclaimer : aAs i said earlier, THESE THINGS WORKS FOR ME BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT WILL WORK FOR OTHERS!

Hi Vineeth it is good to have you back in the thread.I think you should discard your K&N and go back to stock air filters with a new filter in place...but even with all this I had not heard of anyone achieving Red line on the top 5 th gear in a Karizma. The final gear ratio is 0.8,... and is a bit too mich..I think you also have a closer chain and sprocket ratio with 37 or 38 teeth rear sprocket, this further reduces your top end RPM,since it loads on the engine..

These can be easily hacked when the electrical line is cut. Go for XENA disc lock alarm. They have the battery inbuilt so there is no chance of getting the power line cut. They are robust and battery lasts atleast 4-6 months. Fool proof and tamper proof and certified. Expensive and this is what I call 'peace of mind'. www.xenasecurity.com
