When the carb slide gets stuck , with throttle it will not rise like it should..so petrol flow will become stagnant, and only butterfly will open allowing more air without increase in petrol...this means that more air and less petrol leading to very lean running, heat and may be damage to engine components due to heat if it is a long ride....Here is a pic., to explain the carb and it's working.
Thanks a lot psr'jee ... I'm dismantling my one-year old splendor's carb this weekend all by myself.. it's overflowing .. I think it's got dirty insides or float-pin malfunction ... it's a keihin PB carb too .. this info shall be much useful
Anything else I should look for in there ?

Thanks for the prompt response. You dont have to be sorry for anything, I was just kidding(see the wink smiley).

You were giving your suggestions because I had asked for it.

Its not about pocket being filled with money or being empty. I always like to keep my bike in good condition, So was confused on which one will be THE BEST.

Anyways, thanks mate. Will look for it, need to figure how a U clamp will work considering that the bike has bolt holes horizontally.

Ignore the bikes bolt holes... Its got nothing to do with the RX guard.

U clamp is a U shaped clamp with threads at both ends.

An overflow is sure sign of either a stuck float or float needle wear..Buy the float needle before opening the carb,so that in one sitting you can correct the problem.Try to blow compressed air through the jets ,both pilot and main jet...by using a foot pump or regular cycle pump if you have....otherwise blow with your mouth.
You will see sediments in the float bowl bottom which you should clean completely.A one year carb., is not likely to give you any other problem.
              Good luck to your DIY.

                Nissin is the best.

                    • Just for confirmation

Just for confirmation: The AFR Screw has a vertical line where you put your -(minus) screw driver for adjusting. What I want to confirm is whether one vertical position to next vertical position (whether done clockwise or anticlockwise) equals half turn or 1 turn. It seems half turn as it is 180 degree rotation but just to confirm. That mechanic yesterday seems to have fiddled with my AFR, pickup has reduced.

The bike is running rich can you temme about your bikes FE figures???
RICH= more fuel less air [less FE]
                              LEAN=more air less fuel[more FE]

The mix should not be too lean because the excessive lean mixture heats up the engine more and hence it is responsible for the early wear of the engine components silghtly rich mix is recommended but not too rich.
i dont know the stock settings of the zma AFR screw but for 220 the optimum mix is obtained at 3-3.5 turns.

the best I have got until now is 43 and the worst is 35. I got these figures without touch the stock settings of the carburetor. But today I turned the AFR screw 90 degrees anticlockwise after checking the spark plug. Now on which direction should I turn the AFR screw in order to get performance and mileage as 50:50. I too dont know the stock settings of my ZMA!!please help guys!!??!!
