  • Really sad to see the bike Aneesh. Glad you alright.

Taking insurance claim for a dented tank is difficult. I know of several occasions where a brand new bike have been denied of insurance claims for a dent. Suggestion made by PSR is more practical IMO.
Could this also have happened if there was a crash guard in front?

Once again I do not Advocate that anyone should use it because I had used it....all experiments are with risk only...The user should decide after weighing the pros and cons, and I am in no way responsible for the outcome.
I was sharing my experience ..it is up to you to take it or leave it. YOU DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT.
That is very correct . Everything we share on this thread is out of our own experience and it does not necessarily mean it'd work for another person . All are requested to use their own judgement .

Isn't the homemade experiment being conducted with 2T similar to additives being added by oil company. So why not simply fill premium. Unless of course one is concern paying extra.
True . But then the reason for this thread's existence would be questionable if every one were to just fill it , ride it and service it according to what the company says . A lot many good ideas are being thrown around here and a lot of people are benefiting from them . Paying extra does affect all . Not just for petrol . Engine oil additives ( of the home made experiment variety ) like Boric acid is being used by some of our members . So also ,acetone in petrol ( my 500 ml bottle is yet to be opened ) We are tossing ideas which might be beneficial either by being cost effective than stock or by giving better performance than stock . Hope you get the point .

I'm with psr on this .. let the small cosmetic things like dents be .. just look around , everyone has dents ... life is such in here that you can't avoid em .

Lol , They'r more than happy(thanks to god they both got out without even a scratch), infact they were just looking for a chance to rebuild their bike and TADA!!! a genuine reason.
          @Psr sir,
Just to take care of yesterdays foolishness I filled up 5lts of petrol without 2T and also prepped a small measuring thingi thats also portable so that after every fill starting from the next one I can effectively add 1ml of 2T/Ltr. I'll post the pics tomorow cause now am literally in pain and dying due to moms deadly cooking(damn! am going to kill those people conducting cookery shows. ).

                That's a nice graphical illustration of a 4 stroke engine .

It is a good pictorial representation of a car engine with DOHC ,direct cam actuation, with dome top piston having swirl contour.

                    • Me back from a western Ghats ride(1250kms). The ZMA(2005) model performed spotlessly on whatever terrain. we were riding in the rains atleast 5-6 hours a day , and was taking corners at 80s and 90s but still the vehicle seemed to be nailed on the ground Took the ZMA to whatever terrain possible.Got a comparitively very good FE of 37-38( very good considering the state of roads travelled )

                      • Im back again after a 550 kms single day trip.
While returning, in the last 50 kms the bike refused to go beyond 4k-5k rpms in any gear and I had to maintain below 60 kph. Although the engine revved up smoothly in neutral from 1200 rpm to ~9000 rpm. The problem was gone the very next morning, but feeling a relaxed acceleration than it used to accelerate earlier.
Air filters are newly installed so I don't think they are creating any problems.. I guess its time to change my spark plug. (15k kms done, 8 months old)
What do you ppl suggest? Stock or NGK Iridium Spark plug?

                            • The brake oil level has gone down on my bike & hence the disc brake lacks the bite(feels very spongy).

The colour of the current oil is transparent(kind of yellowish) so I guess its DOT 4. I was planning to top up the oil using DOT 4 specified brake oil from TVS Girling. My question is, once the top up is done Do i have to BLEED it to get the bite back or just leave it as it is?

Congrats on a long trip done...Regarding your problem was the bike getting hot ? I think the throttle slide may be getting stuck due to hot and then cooling conditions...if the problem repeats then it is confirmed
Stick with NGK DPR-8 EA plug.
