Re: Karizma/Karizma R
I couldn't make anything from the picture. If it was the aluminium frame extension that holds the middle cowl, I suspect some one braking it than it broke due to vibrations. Now there is no other way than welding it, or buy a new frame.Originally posted by harishkumarko View PostYesterday while returning home from college I started to hear a squeaking sound. It would appear only at certain rpms(low) while riding. When reached home looked down(since the sound was somewhere near the engine) and I could hear the noise increasing with revs. I started to freak out assuming something was wrong with the engine! But I suspected it has to be something else and I would never expect anything to go wrong with the engine. I have had such experiences earlier and usually found that the sound was from my key chain! But not this time. On closer inspection I found that the bracket holding the engine cowl had cut off on the right side. It looks like a fatigue crack to me. Has anyone faced this issue earlier?

BTW, I received a grunge brush to clean the chain, that I ordered two months back. Yet to use it.

No!! Please do not spray petrol anywhere. Atomised petrol may catch fire spontaneously.
You may use diesel or kerosene for.cleaning purposes.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
I was able to get rid of the chain rattle by cleaning the chain but the chain seems to tighten to extreme and loosen fully at the same point of chain slack adjustment. so if i loosen the chain now, it will hit the chain cover walls and if i tighten it ill make tak tak noise and resist rotation.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostYou are awesome!

Thank you. Maybe i risked it. The only reason why i used petrol was, i thought petrol would dry up easily after the cleaning process and wouldn't mix up with the chain lube unlike the kerosene which has a chance to mix with the chain lube thus reducing its viscosity and scattering everywhere after i speedup.Originally posted by Manoj76 View PostNo!! Chain slack should be ~1" or 20-25mm at the tightest spot.Originally posted by nithin2767 View PostI was able to get rid of the chain rattle by cleaning the chain but the chain seems to tighten to extreme and loosen fully at the same point of chain slack adjustment. so if i loosen the chain now, it will hit the chain cover walls and if i tighten it ill make tak tak noise and resist rotation.

Check if sprockets are worn. Nearly the same thing was happening to me. I got a new Rolon gold set for the ZMA for < 850 rupees.

No just replace by a single can of new oil, just remember to keep drain intervals around 1000kmsOriginally posted by jayanth View PostHi guys initially when i gave my bike for first service they changed the engine oil (900 ml of Stock engine oil + 100 ml of 3M engine oil plus). Re: Karizma Zma
My Karizma have clocked approx 4500 kms on the odo .. i have installed a UNI free flow filter long back at about 1000kms...Now the problem is that once the engine gets cooled after 2 hours it is impossible to get the engine started without reving it a bit and often require 3+ selfs...Kindly suggest what should be rectified

Re: Karizma Zma
Check the accelerator cables first. If the accelerator's stiff, get both cables replaced.Originally posted by viper008 View PostGuys my karizma has done around 33000km,recently I am getting trouble in the RPM, it keeps on going up & down i tried to tune the bike but after some days the same problem. Get rid of the uni filter, dust in the engine will ensure you won't clock another 4500.Originally posted by Henick View PostMy Karizma have clocked approx 4500 kms on the odo .. i have installed a UNI free flow filter long back at about 1000kms...Now the problem is that once the engine gets cooled after 2 hours it is impossible to get the engine started without reving it a bit and often require 3+ selfs...Kindly suggest what should be rectified
Next, sounds you're running lean as the newer factory ZMA's have a lean AFR setting. Turn it to 3.5 turns and see what happens. Cold starts in the morning will require choke anyway.

Re: Karizma Zma
Are the Uni that bad ?? i have recently oiled and cleaned the air filter .. the problem showed even before installing the uni ... i had a minor fall once on a slippery incline leading to varied rpm which i rectified at the service centre ...
