Luckily @SriramEfunds came to my rescue and had offered me to sell his RR unit for half the price, which he had bought earlier it seems. Thanks Sriram anna !
Went to the mechanic today, got the RR unit replaced, and now its working fine! (Except for the headlights, but i think its because the battery needs to get charged up a bit). Running without the extra Aluminium heatsink for now, planning to fit one before touring.

Also had a great time with you Sriram anna! Doing D.I.Y's, discussing bikes, etc. Your knowledge, especially on 2-strokes, simply astounds me!
Special thanks to @AK3D sir , Ravi anna , @psr sir , @phanikar sir for the immediate response and the information.
I totally missed considering that psr ji's RR was working at the time he used the bike without a battery - when other members pointed it out, I was happy that we had some additional info and further background from ravi@17bhp and phanikar about the RR functionality.

I'm happy Mr SriramEfunds helped you out. Happy for the thread that this is one of the best on this forum (with the ZMR and CBR threads), with few arguments, and knowledgeable people helping each other both online and offline.

No need for sir, I hope that soon you'll be Anna status too and help others with your knowledge as well .

Its like a natural resource to all those inquisitive minds out there who own a Karizma, and are keen in getting to know inside out about their rides, kudos for making this thread a boon for all ZMA owners!

I am in the learning and experimenting process now, hope i will be of help to fellow riders and ZMA owners to the best of my knowledge in the near future!

You're welcome Yashwanth. Years ago, I entered this forum with a problem faced by my RX and credit to this forum for helping me to learn and share. I consider learning as a continuous process and never felt I know it all.

Sir, I thought it was an opportunity to contribute to this forum by helping another biker. I'm very happy to see that there are many seniors today to guide the newbies and enthusiasts. I would agree with you that, IIRC this is the first thread where I have seen the technical discussion at high standards and knowledgeble heads had contributed to the various issues and if may I quote, Karizma Ownership thread got answers to all the reported problems faced by the rider today. Thanks to this thread and active members. Peace ~ Sriram

Don't experiment too much . People are known to scare other vehicle owners after getting information and delving deeper into the working of motorcycles. This strange symptom is called bike-itis and it'll affect you as well. You will probably put an ear to an unsuspecting fellow's engine head and comment on the slight ticking that you hear, which will cause him to rush to the ASC to find out what ails his vehicle.

Dear Sriram, it is only by helping others that we find we help ourselves as well. Both in knowledge gained and knowledge exchanged and retrived. With time, I hope this thread continues in the same vein and we have more riders helping others.

I wish I could say that for the entire forum, but anything is better than nothing!

Don't you think the SVC/dealership would guide you better? (if in case you haven't been there already)
BTW, you can shave off 2-4k (depending on the location/city) from the OTR price if you decide on getting the RTO registration/insurance yourself rather than depending on the dealer.

97k OTR including bribes to the RTO and Motor Vehicle Inspector plus additional processing charges on insurance seems quite decent and appropriate to me.

for squeeky noises from suspension , remove the nut and bolt which is indicated in "red arrow"
apply some grease and put it back to normal
the squeeky noises will be gone

That is the swingarm bolt. Removing it is only advocated when the swingarm bushings are to be greased. Only removing the bolt and replacing it with grease will do nothing for any squeakiness (the bushings are the important part).
Squeaky noises can pop up from various places. The rear brake is very famous for that, if there is dust or rust between the shock absorbers, that can also cause a bit of sound. Best is to analyze where the noise is coming from. WD40 works well for any such squeaks (not on the rear brake though).

If there is rust in the swingarm axle, you get squeaking noise. Ramprasad's bike was making the same noise and my mechanic here found out that its from swing arm. He pushed out the axle with another axle. There was too much of rust. It was cleaned, greased, and lubed. Put it back in the same way. All the noise vanished.

Ah I see. Were the bushings also greased? If only the swingarm bolt/axle was removed, there is a high chance that the rust had crept up to the bushings also.

Glad you got it sorted out. I had an issue of the bike wobbling at times, after going over bumps - narrowed it down to rust on the bushings. Didn't have any noise issue though.
