You have to remove the two star screws in the top of the fairing which is near the fuel tank. Then look under the fairing you will be able to find two bolts on either side. It will be easier to unscrew these if you have a box spanner. The regular spanner will do the job but requires more effort. Then you will have to pull a bit on the sides of the fairing to release them. There is one universal connector which is used to supply power to the headlight, pilot lamp and indicators which you will have to remove to remove the fairing completely. Or else it ll be like the fairing is chained and you will have limited access.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostHi, I need a detailed guide on removing the front fairing for headlamp and pilot lamp replacement. Cause tomorow will be getting my 9SMD LED's from yasher bro. And will also be throwing in a new 55/60W BOSCHE.. What say?
The pilot lamps can be removed easily and changed. No problems. Now the headlight requires some effort. First remove the power cord to it. Then remove the rubber cap covering the headlight. There will be a thick metal wire kinda thingy which is used to hold the headlight firmly. There will be a screw holding it in place. This is the most trickiest part! Even after changing the headlight some 4-5 times I get stuck here everytime. You will have to remove this to access the headlight. Then repeat all the steps in reverse.
Or best option would be to pay your mech some 30 bucks and watch him do it closely. Then from next time onwards you can do it on your own.

Will do it tomorow asap after I get my led's and bosche. The reason I want to do it myself is that I've always found it best to work on my bike myself for experiences sake
, and also due to the fact that I've drained every single paise from my pocket money to get hold of these led's.

Ripping in city not advised, but will not cause problems..and the amount of oil you burn will be minimal..keep a check on your oil level, and you will know in 500 Kms.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View Postoh sir,I dont want to burn my bikes oil, will do it,now a days i dont rip worried of this.

Last time,100ml oil dropped after 200km ride,so i guess its not small amount.Originally posted by psr View PostRipping in city not advised, but will not cause problems..and the amount of oil you burn will be minimal..keep a check on your oil level, and you will know in 500 Kms.

Piston rings are new and bore was ok at the last time when i opened the engine. So me too guess, both are fine and are caused by the worned out Valve Stem Seals.Originally posted by psr View PostYes 100ml for 200Kms is not small amount...I presume your piston rings and bore are ok...
