Just make sure the supplier is Idemitsu and not BP. Idemitsu oil is really good. BP is not good. You can go inside the service station and check the barrel. You see the idemitsu seal on the cap.Originally posted by abhishek.murdeshwar View PostHH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler

Even if you see the barrel, there is absolutely no guarantee that what is inside is what is mentioned on the barrel! For all you know, its adulterated oil, LOL!Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostJust make sure the supplier is Idemitsu and not BP. Idemitsu oil is really good. BP is not good. The only way to be sure is get a sealed GENUINE bottle and get it filled in front of you.
Abhishek, If you don't get Idemitsu, you could try Tide Water's HH oil.
And really, these oils are supposed to have a long drain period of 6,000 km. You can use them for AT LEAST half this much... esp. if you ride hard. See how long your engine remains smooth and then decide.

Very true. I have myself seen instances where some other oil was being filled into the branded barrel.Originally posted by Raccoon View PostEven if you see the barrel, there is absolutely no guarantee that what is inside is what is mentioned on the barrel! Suspension/swing Arm Bushes!
Hello mates,
I have recently seen that the suspension/swing arm rubber bushes made of Rubber have gone kaput in my 2007 Zma R. The bike has done only 28000 kms on odo.
My question is....is it normal to have the bushes worn out so soooon?
Also, checked with HH people but the cost is more then a car's suspension kit. can anyone tell me any other replacement for the bushes which would not burn a hole in my Pocket. Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

Most probably the wearing out of bushes depends on how the suspension takes beating based on your riding conditions.
You can fit the battery with slight modification. I have the path to an album by Sankar which clearly shows how to do it, but seems he removed the link now.Originally posted by n4speed View PostHello,

@inder & Ravi: the bushes are a set of 4 with each costing a bit above 300.00rs. makes it more than 1200.00 in all.
well, mine has been primarily into street/city ride with a bit of long stretches and at times faster speeds and hills. mostly rode solo, rarely with a pillion, not much into off roads, drifting and all.
would like to mention that I have kept the spring tension of the rear shock absorbers to the max. could that be the reason for the faster/sooner wear out of the bushes? Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

Help: Green Filter for my zma?
km reading: almost 30000 / 3 years old / 35+ /ltr
hey
after almost 10 months of waiting period for my Splitfire spark cable wire and NGK iridium on getting in touch with my zma...
Finally i done it...whooooosh !! what an amazing change...it was really a smiling surprise feeling after riding it...
one thing more missing is the Castrol Power 1 Racing oil i bought with the above two...it should be in my zma pretty soon...
Last thing on my mind for a long time is being in touch with an after market air filter...
at one it was hell down here hearing the sound of the wroom wroom from almost all bikes...say sometimes the splendor, libero, from pulsars to the upper class...
now that all the buzz of filters have gone down...
i am thinking of having the Green Filter for my zma...
is it a good bet than the K&N filter...
and believe me ...i love to be unique...lol

Hey DCS the suspension bush wearing out on 28000 is quite okay... my 2004 P150 DTSI bushes got worn out in the period of 30,000kms each(my bike has done 75,000 kms.) It all depends on how you ride and the terrain you ride. Like you, I am also more in to touring, but in hillls and in certain parts there are no roads at all. so the wear and tear of the bushes is evident. And now, I'm riding a karizma so lets see how long they hold on to.
UPDATE ON THE BIKE:
I got the bike on the 13th of feb have ridden 3000 kms. My daily ride to and fro to work is around 82 kms (15 kms of highway and the rest is city riding.) the engine has got smoother now, but the undercowl makes the heat's presence felt on the red lights. I generaly do 80-90km/h on the highway and btwn 60-80km/h in the city(depending on the traffic). WIll go out for a 1000 km. long ride the coming weekend.Last edited by anshul uniyal; 03-28-2009, 10:17 PM.
