Good to know that sumit is safe. Thought I was the only one who had such na experience on a zma. In my previous zma-R, for some reason, the shift got locked when i was doing 80+, later on it was found out that the piece of metal which broke caused the issue. I got full replacement from HH. Wonder why this happens

Recently changed my shocker oil seal costed 150rs.these zma parts are costing like anything.
Was there a squeaking noise emanating from the swing-arm area, before you changed the bushes?

What symptoms alerted you to the problem?

          Please let us know.

          • I do not even know what is the status of the bushes of my bike. Had done extreme touring in bad roads and sometimes no roads. Suspension took beating on several occasions with huge potholes and speedbrakers. Done many offroading trips around hyderabad. My bike has done now 36000 kms.

Could somebody tell us what prompts us to change the bushes??

Has been wondering if anybody has experienced this kinda damage in the bike. I had to believe now that things like this will happen. Of course, Sumit might accidentally accelerated when the gear is stuck in between. Seems it caused the damage.

Well, I dont know how right I am on this but I feel that when the bush wear away, the bike tends to go fish tail or something like that, as if it is swinging to one side in particular.
the way to chech is... Park the bike on the main stand and then try to check the free play by pulling and subsequently releasing the wheel/tire. the direction of force applied should ideally be parallel to the ground or the swing arm. if the play is a bit way too much...its time to change, else, manage with what ever you are left with.
              Cheers

I am confused. Does a worn out swing arm bush cause fish-tailing or instability? As far as my knowledge goes a squeaking noise is heard from the swing arm area- which multiplies in the presence of a pillion rider or bad roads.

Fish tailing or instability or a punctured feel whenever ridden on the centre line of the road etc are more commonly experienced in the case of worn out steering cones/races. Please correct me if I am wrong.

PS: I remember a mechanic telling me that the squeaking noise will vanish after the swing arm/suspension area is cleaned with a high pressure water jet. And it did work on my P180- the noise did vanish after I was told it was from the swing arm bush. Cheers!

                            • Guys,

I am planning to get a zma soon. Went to a dealer in Delhi (JK enterprises), and surprise-2!! No zma's there I asked the owner and got the following reply:-

"The booking for zma R is closed, as new zma is arriving in 2-3 days" and i was like

Next, what would the new zma have? I asked curiously and exited to hear FI, rear disc brakes and projectors
BUT THE REPLY- "It will be a new stickered version, like the R version came after zma." Hearing this, i was like
He said he will inform me ASAP the bike arrives in the showroom.

Went to another showroom, who has no idea about new zma! they has the R in stock, with ready delivery.

I guess its a wait and watch game! Will keep you guys updated, if i get any call from the dealer tomorrow!

                              Happy Riding,
                              Himanshu

PS- I posted the same info in "What like could be launched" thread, but since its a zma, i guess it can be discusssed here too!!
                              ZMA'ingggggggg

Automech pipe will not adversely affect the life of Karizma engine. Most of the KMs i have covered is with the Automech pipe and there aren't any issues with the engine, i have rejetted to 130mains though. I removed the pipe when i shifted to another carburetor since the pipe and the carb weren't working together anymore. It's a great pipe to have for stock/near stock karizma engines, sounds good too. But don't expect any marginal increase in speeds, what it does is increase the torque from low to mid.

Excuse my non timely reply I'm irregular with logins.
