Never discard it with other garbage, etc.
Ah, didn't know that, i haven't heard from any dealer about discount for old battery, in that case i have two of them with me now, can try to sell them Haven't disposed the old batts in garbage, will try to sell them to local battery shop soon.

    • It is required by law that old batteries are surrendered for recycling and/or correct disposal to the battery dealer. I remember seeing a circular to that effect at a local dealer.

Typically a small sum of money is offered by the dealer for the used battery to sweeten the deal.

      • @ Nirvan : Does that also apply to the normal AA or AAA batteries/cells...!!!

Try selling, but I don't think batt dealers will buy them like that. AFAIK, they are supposed to buy back your old battery when you buy a new one from them. But no in harm trying.

Even if none of them buy it, please give it to them for free with the condition that they will be sent for recycling... they should *not* be disposed in any other way.

              • got my bike

                Guys,

I got my bike on monday. I had high fever and headache, so couldn't take any pics till now. The bike is running smooth till now, except the usual stiff gearshift. I noticed some noise in the discbrakes similar to one I had just before I replaced the discpads(some scraping noise). I didn't really noticed in my earlier zma since it was raining cats and dogs at the time I bought it and it used to have lot of slush and mud on front discs. Is it usual on new zma? The odo as of now has clocked 45 kms. I will be clocking more this weekend and will be using it for daily commute to office.

                Regards,

                Krishna

                    • How is an oil filter gonna help that problem??

Anyway, your solution is to tank up at a bunk that sells "clean" petrol, simple!

                      • @krishnadevanur: Please get it washed, some gravel particles might have got stuck in the disc.

@vineetg84: Please check the heat shield&all bolts on the silencer first.
                        Quench my thirst with gasoline!

                        • @sarvjit:i`ve already done that..its all tight the bolt..the silencer doesnt rattle when the bike is idling..only when the throttle is raised or the choke is on..the silencer rattles..and the noise is from within the silencer..even when the bike is off and i kick beneath the heat shield of the silencer it makes that annoying rattling noise..maybe the silencer JALLI inside has become lose..will raise the issue with the service guys when i give the bike for servicing next week.
BUT ITS BEEN A GLORIOUS ONE YEAR..the bike`s so smooth and the power and mileage is the best on any indian bike above 200cc mark..

                          • vineet, if your warranty is still valid, you can get your silencer replaced by your HH dealer/service center.

I've read about this being done with a few other Karizma owners' bikes.

                            • I have been driving my ZMA-R since 1.5yrs and its done 25k kms....
Recently, I have got the tires changed for my bike...
Front I went for Michelin M45 (Stock size)
                              and Rear Michelin Sirac 120/80-18
I planned to go for tubeless in the rear but when we tried, air was leaking... so had to go with the tube for both the tires.....

Due to SIRAC, bike felt a bit heavy in the beginning... but after sometime I got habituated...
The handling (especially at cornering and high speeds) feels awesome now...

                              • I have got one doubt....
How many of you have observed that after a good run of around 10kms, the rear mag wheel of the ZMA becomes hot.....

First I thought that my bike had some problem, but when I checked out my friend's ZMA, it was the same problem....

When asked in the service center, they told that its common....
