  • Thanks all for the replies, had been to the SS with the same issues and here are the updates
    • The lack of power after 5.5k rpm is cos the bike hasnt opened up completely, it will settle down in about 1k kms more.
    • Disk brake noise he says is due to the pads being in touch with the disk and he says a small sound is common, will verify again after 2nd service
    • Switchin to Castrol, the SSC guy says do it after 1 yr (min 2nd service), warranty on the engine may be lost if theres a issue aftr the change with the engine.

        • Hey Guys..had a couple of doubts and questions in regards to my ZMA...

There is good amount of noise when i change gears (happens during downshifting/upshifting)

The bike touches 60 kph @ 3600 rpm, is that alright?...i spoke to the HH guys and they said the airscrew is at factory setting.

I am planning to go for a new rear tyre, can ya suggest any good options..cost is not an issue (if tubeless is better then suggest a few options for that too..)

i just got Mrf Meteor 110 Tyre fitted for the rear last week.. it seems to be hard compound.. very nice grip on & off road.. need to yet test on wet surface (shuld b better) & cornerings..!
previously for 1.5 yrs I had Dunlop Geo-Cruiser 120.. that was not at all good.. initial time i felt nice.. look is very nice.. but the grip sucks..! on wet surface it skids like anything even on acceleration.. forget the brakings.!

I would recommend to have not more than 110, b'coz at some point of time some bumps may lead the tyre to touch the chain cover.. but most importantly it wont effect in a good gripping as well, since it will be much thicker than the stock rim..
so 110 is very nice.. u can check out Michellin also..

I just recently changed my CamChain tensioner @almost 40K kms on the clock.

Brake Pads also changed quite recently @ 35K kms

Chain and Sproket set didnt last as long. Had to change it at about 28k - 30k kms

My bike's disc pads changed at 15000k. Now recently changed again after 32000 km with ASK aftermarket pads, just for 100 bucks. FUll paisa vasool. They are as good as Nissin, of course, not greater than Nissin.

Do not worry about camtensioner and chain. Still a lot of time is there for your bike.

Just stick to one type of mineral oil. Idemitsu oil from HH is really good ( do not use HH oil supplied by BP). Other option would be elf eco.

Disc pad: Changed first time after 25k. U use both breaks.. now trying to use front only when its must . I too need to get a cheap one... i dont mind changing it after 5k if its cost only 100 bugs. How is it copared to stock pads ?

when it is time you should hear a metal scratching kind of sound continuously... u'll loose pickup too.

the nissin pads are at Rs1750. After market pads are available from some good companies too - ASK or KBX... definitely not as great as the Nissins but good. ASK is OEM for Honda & Yamaha and u know about KBX / Breco.

Check with your local spares shop for CBZ's brake pads. That's the same set for CBZ and ZMA.

                          • Even Unicorn pads are available as after market. They are different from the Karizma's but same as P200's.

                            • I went to the SC to get the ZMA pads for my new CBZ .I asked for both the ZMA and cbz pads so i can compare them. The zma pads where made in japan they had these holes or something which were wider than the CBZ. I asked the mechs their if ZMA pads can be fitted to the CBZ he examined the pads and said nope not possible.may be the ZMA and the older model CBZ use the same PADS.

                              • he he... sorry for the laugh but that is what I told and you've learnt it the harder way. Your bike is called the CBZ-X and CBZ means the Original CBZ.
