Is there any way that I can improve my headlight without being stopped by cops?
Damage to reflector is negligible considering the benefits you get out of higher watt bulb. Simply plonk in 55/60w halogen n ride with peace.

Battery will not die, don't worry.

Just get a regular 4700uf 50v capacitor, available for around 50/-

        Procedure is more or less like this;

Hi all, i want to share my recent DIY on my karizma, I've replaced the entire carburetor assembly because of some irrepairable issues with the original one.

Here is the pic of new carburetor assembly-hero genuine which costed Rs.5890 and new choke cable @ Rs.90. I bought these from Parshwa Motors (Hero parts distributor) which is in J.C road.

The reason behind replacing carburetor is that the slide was not seating in properly in the carb slide cylinder. Cylinder had uneven surface wear and because of which the needle broke apart from its top ring.

I tried to replace it with new slide set (includes diaphragm and needle) but the new needle also gave up. See the pics below:

Since the problem is with the carb cylinder, the entire assembly had to be replaced. The engine is running better after replacing the carburetor.

I have a peculiar problem with my bike ever since I bought it 2 years back. It was there with the old carb and still exists with the new carb.

The engine runs smooth and pulls neatly sometimes(once in a while) and sometimes (most of the time) it is rough and feels like not enough fuel is supplied to engine.

The bike has run for 48000 kms running on 20W 40 grade engine oil and I am using NGK G-power spark plug and the AFR screw is at 3.5 turns.

Looking at the spark plug, i can see a dry black soot deposit on it. The deposit says that its running rich but the performance is not up to the mark and bike struggles to rev up.

I suspect that the spark plug is not getting enough ignition voltage because of which the fuel is not burning completely. Has anyone faced this kind of a problem?.
Is it because of 1) Faulty Ignition Coil (or)
          2) Faulty Spark plug cable (or)
          3) Faulty CDI. (Or)
          4) Compression loss

I request the seniors to please advice on this issue.

What is the distance zma can cover with petrol off?

depends on riding style , in traffic just 1 or 2 km , constantly 40-60kmph can give 3 km

Was using a 32 mm carb till yesterday. It used to run around .8 km with petrol off. Changed to a used zma carb yesterday and checked with petrol off. Still runs 800 metres. It was returning around 43 kmpl in highways with old carb. Will check spark plug.

For my riding style I prefer 4~3.5.

                                For increase in FE overall,
                                1. change Spark plug to NGK DPR 8 EGP " G " Power plug
                                2. use thinner 10W30 engine oil...This will ofcourse increase engine temperature and rough running..compared to 15 or 20 w40.
                                3. Ensure you have a clean Air Filter and replace Air Filter every 8 K kms, more in dusty environment.
                                4. Change Spark Plug every 12~10 k kms.

Hi, Thanks for the detailed procedure to set AFR, I have a problem with my bike, when i set the AFR at more than 3.5 turns, say 4~4.5 turns, the bike hesitates to pull (feels like the fuel is just going in without being burnt completely) and at exactly 3.25 turns, the throttle feels crisp but the bike doesn't like high revs.

I am using NGK G power spark plug, new air filter, new carburetor!, Motul 20w 40 mineral engine oil.

                                Any suggestions pls....
