I am sure you did it because you are aware of the Pros and Cons of this machine.

PM me your email id and I will send you the parts catalog in a few days.
About service manual, I am also looking for myself.
Hi thank you very much. The Karizma was a chance purchase coz I wanted something cheap for trying some offroading. And I couldn't think of anything else that can be decent on the highway as well till we get to an offroading destination.
And I got the bike for a sweet deal.
Will pm you my e mail id

I was dumbfounded seeing 'Karzima' and 'Cheap' used in the same sentence without a negative indicator. But then noticed your signature.

Jokes apart, the ZMA is an awesome machine as far as off-road use is concerned, the stock alloys are strong and can take a good beating, you may consider scrapping the fibers or using rubber gourmets in between as they can troublesome when ridden hard, not to mention expensive to replace. Sanket had custom fabricated mesh panels for his ZMA a few years ago, if you're lucky you might find pictures somewhere in this thread.

Since the ZMA runs off a DC CDI I would suggest you run a capacitor parallel to the battery just to be on the safer side as you intent to use the motorcycle for adventure riding.

Though jokes apart that's still how I kill the motor on motorcycles that come without a kill switch, more convenient than turning the key.

Hey guys..

Need recommendation on Engine oil for ZMR.. i have been using the Stock(10w30) engine oil but it was giving me just too much lifter tick on long rides(tick starts around 10-15kms into the ride and keeps on ticking untill the ride ends)..then i switched to motul 20w40 3000 HC Tech.. but lifter tick has increased even more. Shall i move to 50 weight oils? Lifter tick really spoils the long ride fun and oil cooler just seems to there for the heck of it..does absolutely nothing..

What lifter ? this engine doesn't employ a hydraulic lifter for the valves.
What you probably need is to get the valve clearances adjusted to spec and maybe have the cam chain & tensioner parts inspected/replaced if required.

Hello guys,

I recently brought pre-owned 2009 Karizma R. And I am loving it!
When I brought it carburetor was in extremely bad shape and stock carburetor was not available in nearby dealerships so my mech suggested I could put P220's carb so I did!but I later found out TPS sensor is disconnected now.
Any adverse effects on engine/CDI if TPS cable is disconnected? Can I keep using P220's carb for few more days? (I have already paid 2.5k for that)

Thanks,
Umesh

About compatibility I didn't see any socket where I could connect TPS cable.

Its been few hundred kms since I am on P220's carb. Acceleration is decent my friend who is on Karizma's carb says acceleration is nice.
Bike goes till 120kmph without much efforts. I am getting fuel economy of 30kmpl approx.

Makes sense to go for the P220 carb which is 3k cheaper than the ZMA carb, also to note that UCAL consumables are cheaper.

As for TPS it would be best to short it to WOT, though you'll loose that low end feel the motorcycle won't knock under load at higher RPM's.

psr sir has provided detailed information regarding ZMA's TPS in this thread do run a search to find the same.

A consistent 30+ kmpl under all conditions is a decent figure for a quarter liter, IMHO.

Your pilot circuit is running lean(confirm with spark plug read) or your choke cable has snapped(if there's absolutely no effect on RPM when the choke is activated).

It is unlikely for the pilot circuit to run lean on a stock motorcycle so inspect for leaks using WD40 test, if all is fine then make sure that AFR is set right.

Bajaj's are ideally tuned lean and even then both my motorcycles die when the choke is activated after the motorcycle has covered a few km's after being idle overnight, AFR screw hasn't been touched since purchase.

Facing problems with 35w halogens now. First I thought that I should go for 60w halogen but then came to know that I can't use it for long time because it will burn the reflector. AFAIK the hid and led are illegal. Two wheelers with auxillary lights are also stopped by cops. 60w halogen is not an option for me because sometimes I've to ride my bike for long time in night. Is there any way that I can improve my headlight without being stopped by cops?

If it helps you could run a capacitor parallel to the battery, you should get a marginally better output with the stock 35W bulb.

It would be best to stick with a stock 35W bulb for obvious reasons.
