rofl , just see that a Ninja 250 that has all latest tech does around 165 odd speed and you expect a knN Zma to do 160 . Impossible . the Karizma's true top speed is 125 ,rest is speedo errorOriginally posted by RanjithMN View Postquick Q guys,is it possible for the ZMA to achieve a top of 160km/h?,with K&N filter? The movie Dhoom is loosely based on my Life

Maybe what you are saying is true, but not in my case!Originally posted by Jonak View PostSorry brother I do not agree with you. I have seen other people using either Aridilite or Fevi quick. They all have got incredible result. I myself is using Fevi quick. Put it before 2K km in several places. after that taken the bike on all kind of terrain. The Fevi quick is rock solid. Just give it some time to solidify. One hour after applying is enough.
Maybe my bike vibrates more LOL! Anyways, I used something like 'BondTite' and it did the trick.. It's fixed now!! Danks..

I did 180 on my mine with one teeth sprocketOriginally posted by harish_zma View Posthi, new member here, harish..

On a serious note
a stock zma struggles to touch red line in 5th gear coz of its tall gearing
no way sprocketing can help you reach 160 unless you are going 10kms downhill

Dude, Sprocketing does shift the Maximum Power Mark, higher up the speed. So, it does help in higher top speed...Originally posted by harish_zma View Posthi, new member here, harish..

But, 160??
That's too much ... That's not much believable, frankly speaking.
I remember shifting 3 teeth down on my P180's rear, to get a max 131 kmph. and there was not much scope left ... could have been 133 at the best, not more than that!---

Guys I need some advise. My '05 zma used to gasp for fuel at higher rpm's. I used to get a jerk when shifting gears above 6k rpm. After getting it checked, I was horrified to see that the tank insides were completely rusted. This clogged the carb and hence the issue. Anyway got the rust removed and now it feels better, though a bit sluggish. If you're wondering how this happened, it's because the bike had done 2.5k kms with it's first owner in 4 years. It was stand still for around 3 years until I bought it in 2009.
Now, the mechanic suggested adding 50ml of engine oil in the tank and fill it up to the brim with petrol. He says this will prevent/reduce further rust formation. I am worried about piston, piston rings and other engine components. Can I go ahead with this suggestion? Will it actually reduce rust formation? Do I have any option other than changing the tank which probably costs a whopping 4k? Please suggest. You better change the tank if you have the moolah! No worries about carb, engine, piston, etc etc.Originally posted by suhasn46 View PostGuys I need some advise. There's a treatment for rusted tanks that will remove the rust from inside and bring the lustre back. I'm not sure what it is called, but it is some sort of chemical wash that the knowledgeable mech can perform. It was done years ago on a friend's RX tank.Originally posted by suhasn46 View PostMoolah is quite is problem sir!
I am a student.
So the question?
The downside to this is the metal on your tank will become thinner in critical places, leading to a leak eventually. Having said that, the wash is your only viable option. Unless you can claim insurance.
Until you get this done, remove the tank, drain all the petrol (and water) and coat the insides with a thin layer of oil to stop/slow the rot.

I prefer using gasket sealant. Its a kind of rubberized glue that becomes like a chewing gum when it dries. Why I like this is because it does not become solid. It remains sticky like chewing gum, this holds joints together at the same time cushions them and allows movement. Best part is, it can be removed easily.Originally posted by Jonak View PostSorry brother I do not agree with you. I have seen other people using either Aridilite or Fevi quick.
