anyways you can try out the stuff that some people use to protect the chrome in bikes during monsoon.it is almost the same color as the silencer.i've heard that it is big task to remove it off the chrome.

do not be depressed, just check if airfuel ratio is correct, chain well oiled/lubricated and has proper slack .Originally posted by on wheels View PostGuys, I am utterly depressed.
My Karizma r is struggling to reach 80kmph on speedo(clocked 7K).
I have noticed this thing few days before, when I was coming to my office.
On 23rd July, I had a servicing done and drained the 300V - 15W50(used for 1.5K only) and poured a new one. On 24th I had a long ride (300km approx). On that day, I filled up my tank from a Highway petrol pump. The performence of the bike was superb. On 30th July, I topped up fuel the tank and had a ride approximately 350km. The road was utterly dusty and I was maintaining 100+ kmph throughout. I faced the issue while returning, the bike was struggling to cross 100 kmph mark.
Though, I don't bring my bike to my office, but decided to use my bike for few days for testing purpose and found that the bike is really struggling to touch even 80 kmph.
I have jotted down few reasons:
1. the air filter.
2. bad fuel.
3. need a carburetor wash.
4. the 300V 15W50 may be the culprit.
5. need to check the spark plug color.
6. the tyre pressure may be low.
7. I have found that the throttle is not moving freely.
I have changed the air filter today, as I had a new one kept at my home. But while coming today to office I found no improvement.
Today, while going back, I am going to drain the remaining fuel and pour fresh fuel from a good petrol pump.
Guys please do advice..........!
I am damm depressed..................!!!!

Not sure if SVC would help replacing the part. However, you can give a try.Originally posted by Vishakh View PostGuys i am facing an issue with my beauty : the golden/brass colored silencer is losing its color and turning brown please dont mistake it for the chrome shield its not that , its the coating on the silencer beneath the chrome shield, its fading
my doubts are
1. Can it be replaced under warranty?- my bike odo- 1700km
2. Any way to prevent the color from further fading?
3. If it doesnt have warranty can it be re-coated/replaced? if yes what is the price?
Please help
OT:- Also for preventing such, you might want to try Collinite-850 that can be purchased online and the delivery at your doorstep. From what I heard the results are good.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

@Vishakh: Bro, I am too having the Karizma-R of your batch. It has clocked 7K+, but I have not faced issue.Originally posted by Vishakh View PostGuys i am facing an issue with my beauty : the golden/brass colored silencer is losing its color and turning brown please dont mistake it for the chrome shield its not that , its the coating on the silencer beneath the chrome shield, its fading

Replacing under warrenty just for color fading would be a tough job bro.
I think, its due to heat the color changed. I don't know how to prevent the color fading, but I do sprey Disel + E.Oil mixture on all the metal surfaces of the bike to prevent rust. Though the solution catches dust, but still just a wash removes all and prevents water to sit on metal surface.
Don't even think about the replacement, it costs a bomb! Regarding re-coating, I think its a brass coat. Need to check.
For my problem of less performence, I have changed the fuel, inflated the tyre, but the problem remains. Suddenly, I found that somehow the throttle is not moving freely and its getting stuck much before of the last end. I can utilise only 30% of the throttle. So, need to check tomorrow the throttle cable and the carb from the ASC.Move on.........

Just changed my front disc brake pads to TVS RTR brake pads. Paid Rs. 370/-, straight fit except I had to sand them a little, as they were a wee bit thick. Braking was mediocre in the beginning, after about 5kms of revvy riding and braking, there was a great deal of improvement in the breaking power. Will continue the brakepad breaking-in and update the progress here.
Also asked the price of RTR rear view mirrors and was told that they cost ~150 a piece, so will be Rs. 300 in total. Will have to figure out if they can be fitted or not first before taking the plunge.- Which Engine oil for Karizma ZMA/ZMA-R? - Check this
- Good Tyres for Karizma ZMA/ZMA-R - Check this
The above posts are derived from aggregation of opinions of several xBhp ZMA riders, based on personal experience/common sense. Please be advised that some things might differ from manufacturer's recommendations.

" ASK " is the OEM brake components supplier to many manufacturers now..including RTR and HH Karishma.Recently I bought the rear brake shoes for my ZMA from HH and found that it was 110/- and in small letters I saw ASK printed on it. In the normal auto spres shops also the price is the same, but the disk pads of ASK for RTR and ZMA is also Rs.110/-...So next time search for ASK pads as a cheaper alternate.Originally posted by prashk View PostJust changed my front disc brake pads to TVS RTR brake pads. Sorry for late reply, ....Please change your throttle cables " A " and " B " and see..I see from your later posts you have ruled out the Air Filter, and Bad petrol as the possible reason. The New oil you had put in can not be the reason.Originally posted by on wheels View PostGuys, I am utterly depressed.

During rainy season or cold climate, some times water vapour gets trapped inside the throttle and clutch cables leading to rusting and jamming...
when you replace the throttle cable, please check and Lubricate the Clutch cable also to avoid future clutch cable problems.
Good Luck. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

ask brake pads is cheap, but it is not effective.my friend who used it says that braking is not up to mark & it wears out fast. finally he removed it and fitted oem rtr pads.
