My Zma had a crash yesterday!

Front fairing needs to be replaced execpt for the headlight unit and speedo meter. May be handlebar as well. Fork needs truing and may be the alloy as well. What could be the estimate for these?

No insurance

oh bro thats sad, how did it happen? Hope you are alright. Year back i replaced the whole front fairing that include R&L Front cowl+ inner cowl, and the sponge like thing inside so called silencer + HL unit and windshield. Even i was in the same situation so i spoke with the svc people and got a replay like if am not opting for a bill, they can do some 3k reduction in total replaced parts prize. So i think you can also follow the same but before that make sure the svc is trust worthy. Just the front fairing including hl unt cost me 6.3k . (Hl unit will be around 1.2k). Repairing the fork will cost you about 150 to 200 bucks and some 200 bucks for the handle bar. No idea about the allow wheel. Hope this help.

my insurance was over .......[i didn't know that it was over ]
after 3weeks
i went to SVC
and asked to renew it
the guy over here just gave me a quotation & he took the cheque
i asked
what if if i met an accident
then he said
dont worry
if you even had an accident
you can claim it .....
you just need to wait for few days ...until cover-note comes
and then you can claim it

hope its same for you over their also
all the best

Hi guys,i am offered a 2007 karizma r for 43k..It has done 28000 kms on odo..I loved its pick up and smoothness..The owner recently changed piston, bore and other minor parts..What do you suggest guys??Something went horribly wrong with the owner's karizma,he heard strange noises from the engine and found out that someone has put sand and dust where the engine oil is poured..The entire work cost him 10k..

The problem may be due to delicate run-in..
1.During run-in and later do u ride most of the time in 5 gear at speeds near 60?
2.Dose your bike turns smooth after 60 and above speeds?
If yes than maybe your lower gears are not properly run-in giving you a tight feeling.Suggest you to ride in all gears and ranging rpm for a while and note the difference.Ask a friend to have a ride before and after you do this, your combined experiences will make things clear. An oil change after this will also be good.
Again just my opinion .Please correct me if am wrong.
Looking at your 13k+ odo reading I may be wrong.
-----------------

i guess you are right,

during my days of run in , i never ripped my bike in any gears, i just kept a speed of 50-60 at 5th gear

and never exceeded 4rpm in any gear

and yes after 60 the bike feels good

thank u .......

What happened is really weird. However, that is his explanation for getting the engine work done so early. Karizmas are known to last 75K kms.on original clutch plates, that is the kind of quality they have! Engine life easily more than a lakh of kms.
But, I'm very doubtful about this particular vehicle. Even if we believe the reason for the engine work, why is he selling it after getting everything done? There must be some problem still unsolvable or costing too much in it.
Take it to a good mech.&get it confirmed. Else you are better off looking for another ZMA in good condition.

Please becareful with this, the reason quoted feels something phishy..

A good 2004 model ZMA which is 45k on Odo fetches close to 46k in Bangalore & I really doubt that someone would give a 2007 model with just 28k on odo for 43k

As sarvajit said check the bike throughly with a known mech, ZMA's spares are very costly & it can leave you with a deep pocket if something to do with engine work

One of my friend changed Engine internal parts after half seizure & he was left with 21k bill after changing bore, piston, cam shaft etc
