Will this affect the bike's performance?
I notice a lot of vibrations when i hit 60Kph these days, which wasn't there pre-service. Could this be due to the changed engine settings? I can practically feel the vibrations shaking my arms, it's that bad.
Please help!
PS: At 2100 Km run, they said the engine oil looks fine. One change of engine oil was done at 750Km.

Don't know about other bikes but for Unicorn Idling is at 1400 (+, - 100) So it's perfect in your case.
And get your air + petrol mixture check. There is a screw in inter side of the carb.(u'll see if you look from the left side.) mech's use this screw with ileing nob to set the mixture right.
Get it checked as even i had similar issue sometime back and this worked for me..

Got my uni serviced day before yesturday from Rajpura, Punjab(My trusted Honda workshop)
Brief history about the issues i was facing:-
>my bike used to ran ot of breath once i cross 60 KMPH.
>Chain was getting loose every few days.
>Sound was very harsh. i had lost all the silence in my bike's exauste note.
>Used to get heavy thumping sound from engine. like thak thak thak. it was like piston is making sound with every stroke.

when i got it checked here in Delhi, they said that Piston, Valve, cam shaft and some other parts of the engine were gone bad(I don't know which part was left from their list, seems like they included every part.) and gave me bill of 9000 Bucks.

took my bike to my fav. Honda service station in Rajpura, and here is the list of parts replaces:-

1.> Gasket head cover:- 40/-
2.> Air Filter:- 90/-
3.> Lifter assy tensioner:- 195/-
4.> engine Oil:- 195/-
5.> chain and sproket set(front and rear) :- 695/-
6.> Brake shoe:- 230/-
7.> chain cap:- 5/-
8.> RVM's:- 190
9.>Labour:- 200

Total:- 1840/-

Result:- all the vibrations, harsh exaust note, engine sound, and chain issue resolved. My bike runs as good as new. i had long smile on my face when i felt the same refinement after months.....

Next expences:-
Fairing cowl:- 490
Tyre:- approx 1800

Good note with cost . Nice to know that even at 30,000 odd Km your service cost was bellow 2000 . My uni is done 670 Km now and on 7th have booked her 1st service . Hoping to get the best service .

Problem : Trip meter is not working . Other than that there is nothing much to discuss . I had fixed a security system for my bike with a remote start and off option . Will have to explain the same to the service center people to take care . Lets see .

well to be precise it's 31987 Kms now. and my bike completed 4 Years last month. And i must say:- i'm extremly satisfied with the bike. even after 4 years it can go on and on on a constant speed of 80 and above on a highway. And it's as good in city traffic as well. the best part, you never get tired of riding this bike.

And dude before you actually go and get your bike serviced, try to get info whether that perticular service station considers security system as a reason to void the warrenty of your battery. I remember they void the warrenty if they see high powered horn on uni. So get info and only after that let them work.

I have it at 1.1. You can lower it, if you desire, that increases a bit of mileage, but on the contrary might create troubles to start if the engine gets too cold in winters..

The high idling RPM is also a cause of vibes... try lower settings..

@rakeshchn: It's same as earlier, just trip-meter added.
@sherry_unicornlover: Yeah.. any add-on other than stock items (or, approved replacements), will indeed void warranty, even a little high powered bulb would void it. So, I am managing with the Splendor horn..

Mhhh !

So people you mean to say that i will lose the warranty for the entire bike , since i have added the Security system .Thats insane . I thought that i might lose the warranty for the battery alone which i could have some how managed . Now that scary . Can any one reconfirm that for me please
