  • @Saif: Tell the chief mech exactly what happened. Most definitely, he'd check the valves and the compression your engine is able to sustain.
Noticed any whitish smoke from the exhaust and/or drop in performance?

    • It's a long story and I'll type later today or tomorrow when I get time. But my bike is back and as of now, it's running fine. They didn't charge me a single penny as the bike is under warranty!

      • i recently booked honda unicorn and waiting for its delivery. Recently i came to know that the new unicorn has only toe gear shift rather than the usual toe heel gear shift. So i tried driving my hh splendour using only toe shift which i found so irritating and uncomfortable that i m thinkin of cancelling the order and goin for gs150r. Some new owner of unicorn can advice how have been their experience, dont they find it irritating and uncomfortable??Do u think is it a serious enuff issue for me to cancel my booking.

U can change the gear lever to the toe-heel shifter type. Why cancel the order for that?
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

          • ^^ Yes i find it irritating and shoe-destructor method of gear-shifting, moreso heel shifts give a more smooth feel-shifts. Instead of canceling the booking ask the showroom to replace toe-shifter with a heel and toe-shift, they will happily oblige!

            • hey if ne1 has noticed
stunner pgmfi cumes equipped with a viscous air filter
is it ne better then stock if used in uni ?
The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

              • may be the owners of stunner are at greater previlage of stuffing parts from uni to enhance performance instead of us with NRI[ HINT]big brother...

stunner pgmfi is far more technically advanced then the unicorn
                  but not as powerful though . . . ..
like unicorn is technically far more advanced then 200++ cc bikes but not as powerful as them.

It is absolute rubbish. My Uni is two months old and I just changed my shifter to heel-n-toe from the Honda dealer itself.

Earlier the dealer didn't have stock of any additional attachments like crash-guard and 'heel-n-toe' shifter for unicorn etc but just the day-before-yesterday he called me up and informed me of availability. Since I had already decided to change the gear-shifter to heel-n-toe type, I got a HH splendor gear shift just in case the dealer didn't have it although I knew that CBZ or Hunt gearshift would suit Unicorn more.

but surprise-surprise the dealer had the heel-n-toe for Unicorn along with the rest of his newly arrived stocks and he charged me Rs. 140/- for it and installed it for free along with the crash-guard.

                      • Can somebody tell me if a tankbag like the Cramster or Studds Mustang line will affect rideability ? I intend to kit out my Uni with a tankbag since the side carriage might hamper the rear seat legrests.

It will affect on tracks if u intend to go to, But for touring, i think most of them carry Turtle bags along with the saddles!!!! and they dont much complain about the tank bags!

No sir, no tracks for me.

One more question, I have a siderack Studds Cruiser which I intend to fix on the Uni.

the Studds dealer tells me that it would need a clamp which they have supplied wit the siderack, but when I look at the Uni the material/cladding below the seat on which the siderack clamps need to be fitted is ABS plastic-type material.

How wise is it to affix metal clamps on ABS plastics ? What recourse do I have ?

U can very well get those tank bags for touring and stuff. With regard's to Studds Mobike Luggages, pls. dont go by what the dealer says, as putting a steel clamp on ABS plastic by means of drilling and stuff is never advisable and can rip-off anytime due to weight and the jerks given by the bike on our majestic pot-holed roads, and if that happens, u need to replace ur entire tail part.

btw. Pls. don't call me sir, makes me feel nervous and shy

                              • A small trouble here guyz
while removing the 4 years old rusted leg guard , when i first tried i failed(the nuts jammed)
then i applied the 3M 4-way antirust spray and gave a bath to those nuts and bolts.
then when i tried again , the outer grip of the nut as well as bolt got damaged.
Now the wrench is moving freely around the nut.
                                Now i have following options:
                                1. Cut-off the nut/bolt with a hacksaw(but i dont have a hacksaw)
                                2.Take it 2 the mechanic.
3.You guyz have magical technique to do it.
Please tell me , any hook or by crook way to remove those nuts.
