Re: Change of handle bar
I don't want single handle bars man, I want the two piece ones lik Apache or pulsar, once I get enough cash I'll go check it if its available for uni, if its not ill use fz handle bar with bar riser. Tyre I'm happy with mrf meteor bro, its insane, and my daily route to college doesn't have a proper road so I need meteor type of Tyre .Originally posted by Rakesh Rok View Post

Re: Change of handle bar
@sinnerz2000, ya that's what I said if you need something like that of a sporty handlebar, try that clip on handle bar, it's simply great, I have rode that in an old CBZ and felt good and MRF Meteor is also superb, I thought of putting that but then the roads which I travel daily here in Mysore are superb, except few roads which have patches, so I just went to the Zapper Vyde. . . For the handlebars, it's not too costly, it'll just cost you around 450-500, that's the last you can give, not above that. If you are going for that of new CBZ's handlebar, I think that'll cost you more and shogun handlebar, you'll get it for 300rs. . . Only for the clip on handlebar, you buy it local shops but for original handlebar of fz, shogun and others better go to a reputed dealer or the Showroom itself. . . If you can wait till some more time, I'll install fz handlebar and tell you how the feel is, so that you can go for that. . . I also need to make some shopping for my bike, buying some mag wheels, will give a visit to JC road when I come there but I think it'll take some time for me as I need to adjust money and then come there to get the best productsOriginally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostI don't want single handle bars man, I want the two piece ones lik Apache or pulsar, once I get enough cash I'll go check it if its available for uni, if its not ill use fz handle bar with bar riser. Re: Honda Unicorn
Hello Guys, I just purchased unicorn 15 days back and done 300kms so far. First service is yet to be done.
Previously I had hero honda splendor.
This one is good but problem is, 4th gear is not that long and have to switch to 5th at speed of 40 kmph max due to its setting of rpm and gears.
Splendor had 4 gears but never felt need of 5th one, and could do 30 to 60 easily in 4th gear.
In unicorn I have to frequently shift between 4th and 5th in city, also pulling power of 4th gear is not as great as splendor. E.g. Uni struggles to pull at speed of 20 in 4th gear and requires down shift.
If uni could do at least 50kmph speed in 4th gear smoothly, that would so great.
Is this normal for all Uni ?

Re: Honda Unicorn
HI, splendor and joy have superior low end torque , which means more pulling power in low rpms , so they do not require change of gears and easily pull from 4th gear. In xtreme and unicorn the torque is developed at 5000rpm onwards so they need to be kept near to those rpm for quick pulling , that makes us change gears often and it feels there is no power delivery below 50kmph . This is felt when upgrading from a 100cc to higher cc engines. I too have experienced this , my 10yr old splendor still makes xtreme eat dust when it comes to low end pickup and pull.Originally posted by dmd070 View PostHello Guys, I just purchased unicorn 15 days back and done 300kms so far. How unfortunate. Perhaps I wasted money after the elephant.Originally posted by RohIIT View PostHI, splendor and joy have superior low end torque , which means more pulling power in low rpms , so they do not require change of gears and easily pull from 4th gear. Even gears and rear suspension is also so harsh and hard. I believe old toe-heel shifter might be better than this new toe only shifter.
Hoping to get them smooth after 1 or more services and I'll request service guys to change suspension setting.
May be I should have gone for 125cc but honestly I didn't like design of any 125cc bike available in market including honda shine. None feel perfect in every department.

Re: Honda Unicorn
dmd070 Mate dont regret your purchase yet , you have one of the finest and silky smooth bikes of india. Yes it does take time to smoothen out gears and engine as it is new and engine has close tolerances, i too thought why i bought xtreme as it had almost no power and felt so heavy to handle , these bikes show their true potential on highways cruising at 70-80kmph , they effortlessly cruise and have brilliant stability. Getting used to toe shifter takes time but you will get used to it in some time , just take care of your unicorn and you will love it .

Re: Honda Unicorn
You can get the toe-heel shifter from the service center since the older unicorns had them.Originally posted by dmd070 View PostHow unfortunate. Perhaps I wasted money after the elephant.

Hello guys. I am new here in this forum. I became a wing rider two months back and my bike has run for 2100 kms. I need few suggestions.
1. What can i do for avoid mud spilling the body of the bike and below the suspension during rainy season
2. Where in kolkata can i glamourize my unicorn
3. At what speeds do i need to change gears as my bike is going to be due for second service
please advise.

Re: Honda Unicorn
What did you mean by "glamourize"? Did you mean stickers? Or painting? Or modification of the bike?Originally posted by girish78 View PostHello guys. I am new here in this forum. I became a wing rider two months back and my bike has run for 2100 kms. I need few suggestions.

Well, i want to add two lights on the leg guard. The headlamp is not very good in honda unicorn. I have read people installed HID by converting their battery from AC to DC. I am new to all of this.
More importantly i want to protect mud splashes on my bike while riding during rainy season. What can i do about that??

same feeling for me as well, the other day I rode my friend's pulsar 180 and after the ride, I just parked the bike and said, what kind of a bike is this, I can't get proper grip to hold on with my knees and also believe it or not I can't ride bikes like splendor and all properly as I feel as if I am riding a cycle or something and it feels too too light weight. . . That's because our Unicorn has a muscular tank and we get good grip to hold onto which gives us more confidence which those puslars lack. . . I said you right and also gave you so many options, RD bar handle, Suzuki Shogun handle, Pulsar old handle, clip on handle. . . Just select anyone and see, you'll know the comfort and control. . . BTW replaced rear tires with zapper vyde today morning and boy oh boy, the tire is simply awesome, it gives more confidence to bend more and more. . . Try it out on your bike for your next tire and it is available in the fitment of 100/90-18. . .
