Castrol Power 1 is certainly good but the only problem many face is genuineness of it.. i mean a lot of people have complaint of duplicates of castrol products available in the market as it is the most used product..Originally posted by punarvasu View Post---------------------------------------------------------------------------

In cold conditions its always good to use grade starting with 10Wxx & in very hot conditions its good to use xxW50 grade oils.Originally posted by punarvasu View PostHere too I am utterly confused. If you don’t mind, please explain why 10W-xx oil must be avoided if it is recommended by the manufacturer.---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good that you find castrol suitable for ur bike, personally I don't like it as it loses its smoothness after few 100km and its not only me but many feel so, but it actually depends on bike to bike, person to person. Since you have been using the same oil for more than a lack kms u probably haven't experimented on other oils, since ur using ss oil, try motul 5100 and see the difference from castrol.

Hi Friends..
I have joined the club of Wing Riders on 6th Feb 2013 (I mean bought my Uni). Got the first service done today at Raja Honda, bangalore.
I bought bike at Saphire honda jayanagar, Bangalore and had a very bad experience.. First day itself I have to go through lot of troubles before to take the delivery of the bike because of their carelessness and people working there are like goons.
So I decided to get my bike serviced at Raja Honda.. there I felt people are bit attentive and kind.
After the service, I rode it for 5 to 6 kms in traffic, so couldnt comment much about the performance. However I felt that bike is smooth and gear shift is amoother than before.
When I apply disk brakes bit harder I get some kind of sound and that is not yet rectified, I have to visit service center again for the same. It is not because of dust as I know how it sounds if it is because dust.. Any suggestions regarding this would reduce my worry..!!
Other than that I am very happy with the bike as of now.. 700 kms done on ODO..
If there is any Unicorn group in B'lore I would like to join you guys for rides and G2G's..

Better take ur bike to dhruvdesh Honda at mekhri circle bro they're much better, for the disk brake problem the pads need to wear properly then the sound will stop or u can take it to the service center they will rub the pads with sand paper and fix it. There is no group as of yet and too few wing riders active here nowOriginally posted by balaji.ep View PostHi Friends..

I have tried Honda 20W40 Oil initially till 8000 kms and then they changed to 10W30. The problem with Honda oil is that it lacked consistency. The bike used to feel a bit harsher as soon i completed 700 kms [approximately] with the new oil. Then once i tried Motul 20W40 mineral oil and bike felt much smoother. In my routine of checking the oil level twice a week i saw the oil level dropped. I quite remember i filled 1 liter oil in my bike. I panicked and then drained the oil and all i could lay my hands on was Castrol 20W40 which i drained after 1300 kms. Now i am on Motul 10W40 Factory oil. I know its an overkill for my bike but its been 2000 kms since i changed my oil and the bike still feels smoother. Even when bike is in top gear with 7k RPM it still feels smoother. Gear shifts are still silky smooth. Even if this oil lasts for 5000 kms i am happy as that is almost what i would have paid for 3 bottles of mineral oil [i used to change oil every 1500 kms when i was using mineral oil]. When i drain my oil i will clean the centrifugal oil filter and clean the strainer screen, change my clutch plates [as they are not costly] and add 10w40 factory oil again.Originally posted by susheelkumar View PostCastrol Power 1 is certainly good but the only problem many face is genuineness of it.. i mean a lot of people have complaint of duplicates of castrol products available in the market as it is the most used product..
The best part is cold starts is not a problem and engine remains cool in summers as well. For Unicorn in my opinion xxW50 oil is too much to handle and not recommended. xxw40 is the best.

Please advice me what to do on this too.
While riding @ 20-30 kmph my bike feels like going into reverse.. for this I waitied for the first service but nothing was solved then I got the carb open and it was set properly after my 2nd service i.e at 3200 km only as i change the engine oil every 1800 km anyways coming back to the point ones the carb was open and cleansed properly to my surprise the problem of the jerking finished awesome but today after enjoying the trouble free ride @ 5800 km present km that same old problem is back owwwww.
well after reading and finding a lot of things on the net I found a post where a person has mentioned the same kind of a problem and same km there here what he writes
. At last they found the problem was in Vaccum Piston Diaphram. It was torn. They replaced it and charged me with 500Rs. but the problem was gone for ever.
do u think this could be the reason should I get this changed too. advice are welcome.
I really wonder why all the unicorn owners hide this fact of the jerking problem as the new CB Unicorn are using CV Carburetors and the way it has been explained about the CV Carburetors here on bike advice i really appreciate got to learn alot.click me
