Are you using it without any Tank Cover ?

Simple solution is installing a tank cover which will cost below 200 and will last for 2-3 years.

    Advantage wouldbe

    1) Can store small things like mobiles, waterbottles, papers
    2) Prevents water from entering the Petrol Lid.
    3) Also protects the tank from being brushed from the seat.

The place where the seat and tank meets will lose paint because of continous wear and tear. My friends bike tank got a hole because of the seat getting continously rubbed near the tank area. But dont worry, this wont happen all of a sudden. It will happen after a long period of time (8 years in the above case).

Tank Pads will cost around 700-1000 Rs. My brother in law installed one in R15 for around 750 Rs. I have not seen one for Unicorn.
I'm not using any tank cover. Please post pictures. Thanks

I got the bike serviced at Ananda Motors, Bommanahalli, Bangalore. You might want to try there.
      Where do you usually go?
Bike doesnt want to cross 5k rpm and it vibrates a lot..

As I wuldnt feel confident I dont force it more..

Sorry. I do not have a camera right now.
All the commuter bikes will surely have one. You can see tank covers on 80% of bikes on road.

Change them when they're worn out not after a certain km

Tank covers are the ones which u see mostly uncles using on splendor nd passion pro kinda bikes, it will spoil the look of ur bike, go for a tank pad.

The worst brakes in 150 segment is Unicorn's.
Don't bother about it. Its his nature
I had been used Unicorn about 8 years (replaced with CB Unicorn after 5 years) & have user experience more than 100K KMs on the same
I had sold out my Unicorn due to 2 reasons.
second reason was its poor braking quality
I wish if I am the only rider in roads !!!!!
So I can red line my bike all the time

Hmm my disk brakes don't have that bite but I feel overall the brakes are ok, if the brakes are too sharp like the ones on Apache or pulsar that can cause more harm than good during panic braking conditions. If u feel the braking isn't good enough u can always use the calipers and disk plate of another bike I've seen a uni with both front and back petal disk brakes.

                    • Hey did anyone find suitable two piece handle bar for uni ? Should be a direct fit with no mods or welding work

I was happy with the brakes till now, but it feels as if braking power is reduced n sometimes the rear brake holds on resulting in wheel lock

My average speed was 60 KM/hr on Unicorn.
I had made 3 accidents because of its braking capability
I am living in Kerala & here is no experts doing 'mods'
The only one I could do is to replace its back brake with Dazzler.
& you may know about Dazzler's braking efficiency
even my brother's 150r's brakes are also become "sponchy".
but his old Stunner's brakes is still performs well

I am so happy to hear that. Have a happy journey.
(which was your previous bike? and your riding style ?)
back wheels should be locked in braking. After some experience you can manage automatically.
one more thing, what is the reason for back wheel locking? (in normal riding conditions)
                          inefficient front brakes, right?

Even a single person here (my area) are recommending Unicorn
