      Hi Arjun

Till 1000 kms I hvnt crossed 50kmph speed on speedo. excpet 2 or 3 times reached 60..
Showroom guys said they changes engine oil during the first service around 700kms.
I think I hv followed the runin period by not crossing 50kmph speed and 5k rpm..

      • For the last time

Today as on 13/3/2013 for the last and final time I went to the workshop with 2 ltrs of petrol in my hand with 1 ltrs petrol in tank reserve. Reached there at 15:30 hrs as I had booked my timing with them. All the formalities were taken care of the bike was handed over to the head mechanic. His duties to be performed.
        1. Clean the tank, empty it completely
        2. Carborator cleaning everything even the dam jets check for the diaphram if it is torn or any issues with it.
        3. Remove the tap on & reserve one and clean that to.
        4. Clean all the fuel lines.

At the time the above points were being done I was there and noticing where all there is problem. Finally the problem was at 3rd going when he removed it there was a lot of dirt and what not anyways the entire dirt was removed cleaned with new petrol.
        re-assembled the bike.
Took the new petrol 2 ltrs filled it went out and wah wah wah Kya kiya yaar not a single Jerk awesome.

Not only this I cam straight got her full tank done. Came home parked her for 2 hrs took my rest and hers too. Came out just to see the jerking if there was any nope nothing amazing I am happy thought of sharing it with you all too.

I had been used unicorn for last 7.5 years

new bikes delivered in Kerala has a common complaint. Missing.

hi, i got my new unicorn on 3rd nov 2012...its runs smooth for long periods, but sometimes the engine shows missing.. it behaves as if the engine has run out of petrol and i have to switch to reserve, but when i check the tank it stilll has ample fuel left.. this jerking appears for a second or two and then dissappears as if nothing has happened.. i showed it to the dealership in thrissur kerala.. , and they cant seem to find out what the problem is, or maybe their service is so poor they cant be bothered... in the past six months this problem may have occured about 6 or 7 times in total... bke has run about 2000km till now

well I have solved this problem after going through a lot of research and steady u can go through my post which is just above yours. It will help you.
do one thing i.e. Go to your workshop just when you are about to finish with your petrol. Carry 2 ltrs with you. And just tell the service guys to remove the tank clean it remove all the petrol from it. Then open you fuel one and off tap clean it properly open the jali of it and you will see dirt inside that's it. Problem solved.
Well in my case I got the carborator also opened and got it cleaned if they can do that well and good. Then after all is over just get it reassembled pour your petrol which u bought with yourself 2 ltrs. And pour it and enjoy the free non jerking ride. Simple
Even I was facing this and got it solved after 6 months 6000 km done. Good amount of research gone through 1000 of post. And this was the end result. I wish you good luck and do let us know about the end result. Good luck

I got the bike serviced at Ananda Motors, Bommanahalli, Bangalore. You might want to try there.

Get the valve clearances checked. Once that is set, all vibrations will go away.

Incorrect tappet alignment causes a lot of unwanted vibrations.

Please check in the Honda Website. There will be definitely an option for feedback.
I am not able to open the website right now. It is dead slow right now in my office PC.

                          • Need tank pads for Unicorn. I see some white patches near the tank. And its seems the tank pad would help to minimize or cover the spoiled. Need suggestion. Anyone else facing this problem seems like a manufacturing defect otherwise :?

Mine got some white permenant marks on the tank when some powder spilled on the tank while it was transported.

Are you using it without any Tank Cover ?

Simple solution is installing a tank cover which will cost below 200 and will last for 2-3 years.

                              Advantage wouldbe

                              1) Can store small things like mobiles, waterbottles, papers
                              2) Prevents water from entering the Petrol Lid.
                              3) Also protects the tank from being brushed from the seat.

The place where the seat and tank meets will lose paint because of continous wear and tear. My friends bike tank got a hole because of the seat getting continously rubbed near the tank area. But dont worry, this wont happen all of a sudden. It will happen after a long period of time (8 years in the above case).

Tank Pads will cost around 700-1000 Rs. My brother in law installed one in R15 for around 750 Rs. I have not seen one for Unicorn.
