    OT Alert

My TVS Scooty's Speedometer itself is jammed at 24199 kms

I asked the SVC guys, they said nothing can be done

BTW it was lying unused for a few years

    • ^^^ Not absolutely sure, but I think there are shops that specialise in repairing speedo units.... at least so I remember hearing.

Else, can't you get the manufacturing company to help?

      • Nopes. The speedometer has to be changed completely. My caliber115 trip meter was not working after 2-3 months of buying, and Bajaj guys said you will have to buy whole new unit, as it is not covered under warranty. I changed it when I claimed insurance for an accident.

        • ^^^What rubbish?! Speedo has to be covered by warranty. I'v had speedos changed in the past (TVS). You just took their word for it??

          • Yes, speedos are covered under warranty.

I changed my unis RVM with the pulsars for better visibility.I cannot drive any bike without RVM they saved my life a couple of times.

                        • RTR RVMs cost Rs. 120 - 130. Just bought one for my Shogun. Pulsar RVMs are definitely cheaper. I know because I checked both of them out... finally went in for RTR RVM because they definitely look better.

They are the best.My right side mirror was a genuine one cost me around 90 i think. The left one was a duplicate even that was better than the the unis.Their thread pattern is diff. so be sure to screw it in properly. If you dont your thread will be gone.

If thread dimensions are different, how will you be able to screw it in?
