Performance gain products and carb tuning diy needed

Well
myself riding a unicorn 2005 model geny grey still maintained as new that has flied mere 14000 kms.
Well earlier my unicorn used to be at 60 kmph speed at an rpm <4500 but nw it revs at sumwhat <5000 rpm .Is it the sign of aging or a bad tuning from service man ?
Hence also i have decided to do oil changes and carb tuning myself only.diy if ne1 has successfully done it ?
Also has ne1 tried the ngk cpr9ea-9 spark plug or sumthing even better and the very famous k&n filter ?
Do tell me the performance gain achieved and where's the good place to get this job done in delhi ncr region or even nearby region to delhi.
Remember m never going to go to authorised service stations since i have come to know that they don't tell you the truth why your bike is giving less mileage or power ,(which is mainly due to bad carb tuning) , they use to sell their engine oil additives for improved mileage and\or performance.Its all dirty business now.
But still i love a honda and would buy a honda(if applicable) only in future as well.
And what's the max. flying speed 1 has achieved with and without performance gain products ?

So today, I had an actual taste of Honda's service. It was my bike's scheduled first service today (took prior appt by phone) and I gave my bike for service at around 8:30 a.m. in the morning and was promised delivery by 3:00 p.m.

Job card included increasing idle-rpm, No Oil Change (since bike ran only 59 kms, so they promised to do it at ltr date), installing crash guard (was supposed to be installed along with the initial accessories and has already been paid for but they are always out-of-stock of crashguards) and that's it. And they had also promised at the time of delivery to give another coat of water-proof coating.

Landed up at service station at 3:00 p.m. and was informed bike had gone for water-proof coating and it was slightly drizzling and someone had gone to fetch that bike from the place were it was being given anti-rust coating. waited for almost 1 hr for this said person who was supposed to come within 5 mins.

Finally when I got matter-of-fact with the supervisor he informed me that none of his technicians were willing to bring down the bike from the godown where the rust-proofing was done in the rain.

They were on some kind of protest against the 'management' for not providing them proper rain-protection gear or amoluments.

This was informed to me after waiting for an hour,

finally after much persuasion he sent one of his supervisors to fetch the bike and gave him his own rain-coat.

Finally the bike came without the crash guard installed, or anything else done except for idling rpm increased and the supposed teflon coating done. Drove it back in rain.

^^During my 2nd service delivery delayed by 1 hour, i got pissed and wrote a mail to HMSI, got a call next day from gurgaon and was told to report to service manager. They refunded my service bill, and my next service was complimentary(oil change+labour) and am now treated as "whitelist" customer to date (touchwood).
Write an official complaint to HMSI, they will call you and svc centre.

At regent honda faridabad , They talk to customer executives at gurgaon like shit and "unko bhee golee de deten hain"
My cousin brother is working in HMSI at a very good post and he himself says just don't go to regent honda , but sumtimes in urgency i had to go to them(as they are the nearest) and return with more problems in my bike.Not all service stations are that very bad , there r a little less bad dealers which improves their service when called upon by hmsi .lols

oil change is easy DIY job .. just open drain bolt at bottom of engine and let the oil drain.. then fit it back and fill new oil...

if u dont want to go to SC for A.S.S. then no prob.. , chk ur manual's service page, where honda listed what they do with bike in service, get it done at local trusted guy!

regarding cpr9ea-9 i have that plug , it costs 130\- from Honda showroom and it is fantastic .You'll have no morning start problem and as per manual u can achieve 110+ [extended high speed] , which is true!

max flying speed i had achived without any perf. upgrade is 100kmph MAX :P

even i had thought abt K&N and found out that jetting is required for it's optimum operation! which means less fuel-eff. so i backed out!

getting abt ~45-50 kmpl now

59 kms ??? why less riding my friend ?

It is the same OEM plug that comes with the bike and is written in the manual. Also, the same plug can be bought from the OEM Manufacturer NGK's distributors for Rs 100 MRP.

I bought a Karizma's NGK OEM plug today for Rs 60 (MRP 75) and HH sells it for Rs 270 in Honda packing.

i have lost the trust on A.S.S people.
And i think understanding the technology of honda is out of the reach of a local mechanic not trained by HMSI especially the CONSTANT VACCUUM CARBURETTOR is sumthing no1 knows about.

My bike was a treat before it got its first spark plug replaced.
And at that time the new plug was for Rs-67 at honda dealer that means this plug is for Rs.30-40 at the distributors which means what a super low quality spark plug it is and hence my bike is not as good treat as it used to be but still good ride.Can u plz tell d neares place 2 faridabad where 9ea-9 would be available?

^^^ The Castrol Bike Zone manager here claims he gets Unicorns for service mainly for carb tuning that the ASS guys don't do due to the difficulty involved

i met one of the castrol bikezone manager or supervisor (not labourer) and he just didn't knew the abcd of bikes.(old faridabad center)
Like he didn't knew there is a spark plug brand called NGK . lols

Check this - NGK

HH sometimes is giving Champion plugs for the Karizma instead of the NGK and there is a difference between these two. Hope Honda didn't do such stuff. The distributor has about 33% margin on MRP and the dealer has about 15% on MRP for the NGK plugs.

and HONDA started this stuff atleast 2yrs before as far as i know as they only had a bosch spark plug for mrp Rs. 67 and some old stock of champion spark plugs
